Every year we welcome thousands of community members, university students, staff and graduates to us

The UWA Aquatic Centre boasts two 25-metre swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor) and a purpose-built Waterpolo pool and caters for learning to swim, casual lap swimming, child and adult swimming lessons, competition training, aquatics sports and events. With all this and much more, the UWA Aquatics Centre is the perfect place to visit, all year round. Public Swimming times: Mon–Fri 6am–8.30a

m and 11.30am–2pm, Sat–Sun 12 noon–2pm. *New time until end of March 2021: Mon-Fri 6.30pm-8.30pm. Office hours: Mon–Fri 10am–6pm and Sat–Sun 8:30am–12pm

Today is World Drowning Prevention Day.

An estimated 236,000 people worldwide drown every year. According to The National Drowning Report 2025, there were 357 drowning deaths over the past 12 months, 27% higher than the 10-year average.

Water is a great place to have fun, but it's important to stay safe. Small actions and good decisions can make a big difference.
