Merinda Park Cricket Club Established 1984. Affiliated with Casey Cardinia Cricket Association (CCCA). We also participate in the CCCA Kookaburra Cup 20/20 competition.

Merinda Park Cricket Club is a family oriented club which has been affiliated with the Casey Cardinia Cricket Association (formerly known as the West Gippsland Cricket Association) since its establishment in 1984. We have adopted strong family values, and welcome all members of your family (not just the male participants). After 39 years based out of Donnelly Reserve, we are relocating to a brand

new $2 million facility at Lochaven Reserve in Cranbourne West. Our facility will be fully licensed and also offers hot and cold food throughout match day and training. We have won premierships in District, A, B, C, D, E, and F grades as well as junior premierships in U13’s, U14’s, and U17’s. We aim to field 5 Senior teams this season, and boast a booming Junior Club setup, aiming to have around 100 Juniors ranging from Under 10 through Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 Levels. On top of our junior teams we are also proud participants in the Woolworths Cricket Blast
program with more and more kids aged from 5-10 joining each year. It is our strong intention to make Merinda Park Cricket Club well known and a place-to-be centred at the heart of the booming Cranbourne West suburb. There are currently over 20,000 residents in Cranbourne West, and this figure is forecast to grow to 30,000 in the next 3 to 5 years. Join us on our new journey!!

Merinda Park Cricket Club is beyond thrilled to announce that Rick Dennerley has signed on as Assistant Coach - Bowling & Fielding for the upcoming 2026/27 Season.

The name Dennerley still gives many an old cricketer nightmares. Simply stated, the great man terrorised opposition teams for an entire generation. But that's not what we got him for!

Yes, he was a Demon with ball in hand, but he was an absolute Maestro as well. His ability to make the four-piece ball talk was incredible. As a batsman, every delivery looked exactly the same, but you never knew whether it was going to swing in or out, was it going to cut, or was it going to spit off a length and whiz past your nose?

The man's playing career only ended a few months ago at the ripe age of 60. For those not fully aware of Rick's playing career, he made his 1st XI debut for Springvale Cricket Club in the VTCA at the age of just 16, and after 6 seasons he moved to Inverloch in the Leongatha & District Cricket Association and was Man of the Match in the Club's first ever Premiership making a century and taking 6-for in the Grand Final. A return to Springvale, and then a couple of seasons at Springvale South in the DDCA before a return to Inverloch where he captained two further Premierships.

A move to the Snake Pit followed where Rick led the Cobras to their now famous A Grade premiership.

Stints at Clyde CC, Carrum Downs CC and Lynbrook CC (to name a few), plus two further stints at Merinda Park, Rick pulled the pin on a nearly 50 year long cricketing career at the end of the 2025/26 season.

We cannot wait to get preseason started where Rick can work with all bowlers to develop and hone their skill sets, along with an amazing opportunity for all of our youngsters to learn from one of the very best.

KING.

Well, to be precise - Jordan King!

We're absolutely stoked to announce that the great man has re-signed and will stay with The Cobras in Season 2026/27.

Handy with his offspinners, but an absolute Wall with the bat at the top of the order, Kingy not only took out our 1st XI batting award in 25/26, but also the Association Batting Aggregate and Average.

All-in-all Kingy made 679 runs at 56.58 in his first season at The Snake Pit.

We cannot wait for Jordy to unleash once again in 26/27!

The Merinda Park Cricket Club held its 2026 Annual General Meeting last week and are pleased to announce our Executive & General Committee for the 2026/27 season.

As we work towards the beginning of the 2026/27 Season, we would like to acknowledge and thank those who are stepping away from their committee roles.

To Cambell Bryan, Daniel Diwell, Jodie Diwell and Lexi Gillespie, we wish to thank you for all your hard work at The Snake Pit.

We also wish to congratulate and welcome Scotty Strang as the new Club Vice President, always good to have new blood on board!

2025/26 wasn't about quantity, it was about Quality for Luke Dinger.

It was about getting his body right, and delivering at the right time... and boy, did he do that (in spades).

When the time was right towards the end of the season, Ding D**g unleashed and played a pivotal role opening the bowling for the Cobras as they stormed to Premiership glory.

And we're thrilled to say that Luke has re-committed to the Cobras for Season 2026/27, and we can't wait to see him rattle some cages this Summer.

One of Merinda Park's favourite sons, the Man himself, Matthew Dennerley had us all worried for a little while there with a rumoured move West next season, but he has re-committed to The Cobras for Season 2026/27!

Coming off two brilliant seasons with the ball with just a tick under 60 wickets, Denners is hitting fast bowler's prime.
