VBL YOUTH LEAGUE MEN TRYOUTS

Craigieburn Eagles are inviting players to attend our open Youth League Men tryout ahead of next season.

Open Tryout
Thursday 24 September
7:00pm – 9:00pm

The open session is available to all interested players. Registration is required prior to attending.

Tryouts for our other senior teams will also take place on Sunday 18 October, with full details and registration information to be released soon.

Under 8s — last round and presentations!

Tomorrow is the final round of the season for our Under 8s, and we'll be celebrating with presentations on Court 2.

8:30am games — presentations from around 9:15
9:20am games — presentations from around 10:15

Teams head straight to Court 2 after their game. Players will be seated behind their court number cone, and each court gets called up in turn to receive their medals and lolly bags from their coach.

Parents and families — please stand behind the barriers so the kids can see and hear.

🏀 FORD AUSSIE HOOPS — TERM 4 REGISTRATIONS OPEN!

Looking for the perfect place for your child to start their basketball journey? Ford Aussie Hoops is a fun, safe and supportive beginner basketball program designed to help kids learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and enjoy the game!

Open to boys and girls aged 5–13 years, with sessions delivered by experienced and accredited basketball coaches.

📅 Term 4: 5 October – 18 December

Choose the session that suits you:
• Monday 4:30–5:30 PM
• Tuesday 4:30–5:30 PM
• Friday 4:30–5:30 PM
• Saturday 11:00 AM–12:00 PM

📍 Craigieburn Basketball Stadium
💲 $110 per child + $10.50 registration fee

⚠️ Please note: no sessions Tue 3 Nov (Melbourne Cup Day), Sat 31 Oct (Cup long weekend) or Sat 7 Nov (Craigieburn Tip-Off Tournament). Saturday sessions conclude Sat 12 Dec. Saturday and Tuesday participants are offered make-up sessions in a weekday group so everyone gets the same number of sessions — full details on our website.

The Ford Aussie Hoops Uniform Pack is optional and sold separately by Basketball Australia.

HEARTLAND HOOPS IS COMING TO CRAIGIEBURN!

Looking for something fun these school holidays? South East Melbourne Phoenix is bringing its Heartland Hoops School Holiday Basketball Camp to Craigieburn!

Designed for kids aged 5–12, the six-hour camp suits all skill levels, from beginners to experienced young players. Participants will work with experienced coaches through basketball drills, games and challenges focused on developing shooting, dribbling, defence and teamwork.

Wednesday 30 September
9:00am – 3:00pm
Craigieburn Sports Stadium
Ages 5–12
$95–$110 depending on ticket options

Every attendee will also receive a Heartland Hoops T-shirt, with prizes and giveaways throughout the day!

VJBL GRAND FINAL FRIDAY

The stage is set for a huge night of basketball, with six Craigieburn Eagles teams taking the court this Friday in their VJBL Grand Finals.

Huge congratulations to our U12 Girls 4, U12 Girls 2, U12 Boys 3, U14 Boys 5, U16 Boys 3, and U18 Girls 1 on earning their place in the final game of the season.

After months of training, hard work and commitment, it all comes down to this. Six teams, six Grand Finals and one final opportunity to finish the season as champions.

To the teams whose finals journey came to an end last Friday, congratulations on a strong season and everything you achieved throughout the year. We are proud of how you competed, represented the Eagles, and fought right through to the finals.

Now it’s time to get behind our Grand Final teams.

One more game. One more opportunity. Everything on the line.

2026 BIG V LEADING REBOUNDER

A huge congratulations to our Division 1 Women’s Vivien Saad, who has been recognised as the 2026 Big V Division 1 Women’s Leading Rebounder!

Vivien was a force on the boards all season, finishing the year as the competition leader in rebounds and recording double-digit rebounds in every game she played.

Her incredible consistency saw her average a 16-point and 16-rebound double-double for the season and record an outstanding 15 double-doubles throughout the year.

A fantastic individual achievement and well-deserved recognition for an outstanding season.

Congratulations, Vivien! We are incredibly proud to have you representing the Craigieburn Eagles.

Eagles, it's time. Registration for our 2026/27 VJBL tryouts is now open.

ONE registration link — select the right group for your child:
▪️ Never played VJBL? → New to Rep
▪️ Currently or previously played VJBL (any club)? → VJBL
▪️ U12s & U20s → select your age group (no separate New to Rep tryout)

Two phases:
Phase 1 — New to Rep tryout (U14, U16 & U18): Thursday 1 October
Phase 2 — VJBL tryouts: 5–22 October (dates by age group in the carousel)

2026 BIG V ALL-STAR 5

A huge congratulations to our YL2W star Chloe Dimkopoulos, who has been named in the 2026 Big V Youth League Two Women All-Star 5!

Chloe put together an outstanding season for the Eagles, averaging an impressive 16 points and 9.6 rebounds per game — just shy of averaging a double-double for the season.

She also recorded 8 double-doubles throughout the year, consistently making an impact at both ends of the floor.

To be recognised among the competition’s best is a fantastic achievement and a well-deserved reward for an incredible season.

Craigieburn Basketball Association is excited to announce our 2026/27 VJBL 1s coaches and coaching squads.

Congratulations to all coaches selected for our VJBL program for the upcoming season. We’re looking forward to seeing each coaching group work together to support the development of our players and teams throughout the year.
