Cleland parkrun

Unfortunately it rained sideways so hard at the end of last week's parkrun that the volunteer whiteboard got wiped clean. Could anyone who volunteered please let me know, because I only have records of those who were already on the board from the previous week (Paul on tail and Alison on photos). Otherwise we're very light-on for volunteers next Saturday. 😞

Rain affected results from today’s very wet parkrun have now been posted below.
All have been fixed and Hopefully they’re all as they should be. Thankyou Andrew for putting in an afternoon’s effort and sorting it all out. 👍
Let us know if you seem to have run twice as fast as you should have!!!

Just a little wet at Cleland parkrun this morning, but always worth the effort!
Well done to all those who braved the cold wet rain.

Beautiful morning to celebrate Andrew Rose’s 500th parkrun and our ED Hamish’s birthday and 200th Cleland parkrun. Congratulations to both! 🎉🎂

Great job by all runners, with the tail walker arriving within the hour; and thanks to the volunteers, urn-bringers and cake-bakers.

(Who collectively made up for the ED who left the vollie bibs in her clothes dryer and dropped another batch of freshly-baked brownies in the Cleland mud before anyone even got a slice… 🤦‍♀️)

Welcome to Rohan, doing his first-ever parkrun (and apologies for not giving you a shout-out at the start) and to the 10 other Cleland first-timers, including Daniel, who was second across the line on only his fourth parkrun! Congratulations to Gavin on a new PB. 👏

Cleland parkrun #416 today was misty but luckily the actual rain stopped before the run, although the clay section at the saddle was a bit slippery. We had a higher than average attendance, with 58 finishers of which 16 were first-timers to Cleland, and two of those it was their first time at any parkrun. On the other end of the scale we had a visitor to Cleland for the second time celebrating 300, and another doing 50 with one of our capes of awesomeness. Despite the slipperiness on one section, the cool day led to fairly fast conditions, with 7 people (12%) making PB's.
Thanks all for coming, especially to the visiting volunteer who brought cake.
