Results didn’t fall our way on Saturday, but there was no shortage of effort from the Roosters.

The Chiquitoes never stopped competing and continue to lay the foundations for the future. The Bloods took the challenge right up to a strong Belmont side, and the Blues battled hard against one of the competition’s front runners.

We’ll review, reset and get back to work.

Some players wear the guernsey. Darren Colley represents it.

From the moment Daz walked through the doors of the club, he has embodied everything that makes the Cottesloe Football Club special.

Teammate. Coach. Committee member. Mentor. Volunteer. Mate. If there’s a job that needs doing, chances are Daz has already done it before anyone else has even realised it needed doing.

On the field, Daz has built a reputation as one of the toughest and most reliable players to pull on the jumper. Most of his work has been done in the backline, where he’s never been afraid to put his head over the footy, win the hard ball and dish out the trademark handball to set up the rebound. He plays every contest like he’s a foot taller than he is. There are bigger blokes on the field, but you’ll struggle to find anyone with more courage.

Off the field is where his impact becomes impossible to measure. A perfect example of Daz being Daz happened this week. He was down at training early helping organise drills, stayed back afterwards working with players on their kicking, then jumped behind the bar while everyone else sat down for dinner. Not because anyone asked him to. Simply because that’s who he is.

One of Daz’s greatest qualities is his ability to look after people. He knows when someone is doing it tough, he’s always available for a chat, and he genuinely cares about everyone involved in the club.

Of course, if you’ve ever trained or played with Daz, you’ve probably also been told you’re not fit enough, need more leg conditioning, or should’ve done a bigger pre-season. Which is particularly funny coming from the bloke who admits there was once a “Fat Daz” era fuelled by ci******es and a million beers. These days it’s zero-alcohol beers, elite standards and making everyone around him better.

The success of this club hasn’t happened by chance. It’s been built by people prepared to give more than they take, and Daz sits right at the top of that list. The leadership. The coaching. The volunteering. The friendships. The laughs. The care he’s shown for this club and its people.

A champion human and a quality footballer! Congrats on the 100 DC❤️💙🐓

After a week off, the Roosters hit the road for three big games.

The Chiquitoes kick things off at Gosnells before the Bloods and Blues take on Belmont Districts at Forster Park.

🐔 CHOOKBALL PONG CHAMPIONSHIP IS COMING 🐔🏓

The tables are being set.
The cups are being stacked.
The tournament for the club’s greatest is officially on.

The inaugural Chookball Pong Championship is landing at the clubrooms on Saturday 13 June, where club legends will battle it out for bragging rights and a spot in history.

Grab a partner, lock in a costume and prepare for a knockout beer pong tournament with glory, prizes and probably a few controversial rulings on the line. Here’s the deets!

Round 7 wrapped up 🐓❤️💙

The Chiquitoes got back on the winners list with a gritty performance on the road, the Bloods battled hard all day in a tough contest, and while it wasn’t the Blues’ day on the scoreboard, there were plenty of positives in effort and lessons to come out of the game.

Now it’s time for a league-wide bye week before we reset and get ready to attack the second half of the season!

Plenty to build on! Plenty to look forward to!

Another solid Saturday for the Roosters 🐓❤️💙

The Chiquitoes fought it out all day, with plenty of positives to take from a competitive contest. The Bloods piled on a big score, continuing their strong start to the season, while the Blues got the job done again and will look to keep the momentum rolling into next week.
