Cosgrove Gun Club

Cosgrove Gun Club is a down the line (DTL) clay target shooting club that is affiliated with the VCTA. Cosgrove has been around since ~1891.

It was known previously as the Cosgrove Farmers Gun Club, as members were local farmers from the Cosgrove area.

COSGROVE 30TH AUGUST 2026 SHOOT WRITE-UP

Well, we can honestly say that winter has officially left Cosgrove with a bang! 😊😁
The weather was spot on perfect for us on the Sunday.
Thank you to the 25 shooters that made for a relaxing day of shooting and for supporting our club.
Congrats goes to Grant Prior from Mathoura for taking out the High Gun with an impressive 199/205.

To Russell, Greg & Pol, we extend thanks and appreciation to the prep work prior to/and running the shoot on the day.
To those who jumped in and helped us too on the day, we are certainly grateful - especially being such a small club.

For those who asked, all meat for Cosgrove is supplied by Brad's Magic Meats located at 41 Vaughan Street, Shepparton. Brad supports many local clubs, so if you can, please support him.

We would like to wish all the Dad's out there a happy Father's day for this coming Sunday the 6th of September.

Our next shoot will be held on the AFL Grand Final Eve public holiday in September.

All shooters welcomed. Sign the book in the clubroom upon arrival.

Hear directly from Senator Bridget McKenzie on the federal landscape, alongside special guest Cr Steve Trelfall, Cr of Greater Shepparton City Council and life member of Field & Game Australia. Nationals representatives Sam Birrell MP, will outline what Victoria’s Nationals team is doing to fight for your rights.

By working together and standing up to ensure our voices have been heard, the State Government has walked away from the Prime Minister’s proposal to restrict the number of fi****ms Victorians may own. But we must continue to fight and ensure the detail of any future changes is carefully scrutinised. The Victorian Labor Government has agreed to 15 of the 16 recommendations of their review and the Federal Government continues to negotiate with the states seeking agreement to their unfair firearm changes.

Firearm owners deserve a genuine seat at the table - not token consultation after decisions have already been made behind closed doors.

This forum will focus on what comes next.

Cosgrove Gun Club (31st May 2026) Shoot Write-up

What an awesome day of shooting! with what can only best be described as a goldilocks of a shoot day.
Cosgrove had the pleasure of welcoming 48 shooters. Of which, 22 were on their 2nd day of shooting, having shot at St James (President's Cup) the day before.

Congratulations goes to Angus Ferguson who took out the 2-day overall High Gun with an impressive score of 372/380.

The club would like to extend our thanks to our sponsor - Brad's Magic Meats and to Northern Vic Ammo Supplies for providing the prizes for the 2-day High Gun.

Big thanks goes to Russell, Wato and Greg for keeping the day running smoothly. To Pol in the kitchen (she's not happy unless she's feeding someone 🤣) and to Glen Carroll for his raffle wrangling skills 🤠 😁
An extra thanks to Russell for having the grounds looking in top notch condition for the shoot.

Thank you to all the shooters who travelled from near and far to participate and support our small clubs. Seeing your enjoyment on the day is why we keep doing what we do between shoots.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday the 30th August for the next Cosgrove shoot.

On what was a perfect Autumn sunny day, the veteran's certainly made their presence known in each of the day's event scores.

With other major events happening around the state (along with increased cost of getting from A to B), we were still pleased to have 24 shooters attend on the day.
