300 GAMES – JYE SOMMERS

This weekend we celebrate a remarkable milestone as one of our club's true greats, Jye Sommers, runs out for his 300th Senior Game in the green, red and white.

Jye's journey with the Cougars began as a junior, pulling on the Corrimal jersey as a young boy with a dream. Decades later, he remains one of the defining figures of our club and one of the original modern-era Cougars who helped shape the culture, standards and success that we are proud of today.

Over the years, Jye has been a key part of multiple premiership-winning teams, giving everything he has for the club every time he stepped onto the field. His commitment to the Cougars extends far beyond game day. He has proudly served as both President and Vice President, dedicating countless hours behind the scenes to ensure our club continues to thrive for future generations.

Perhaps Jye's greatest achievement has been building a proud Cougar family alongside his wife Kristy. Together they have raised four boys — Bailey, Levi, Ashton and Hudson — all of whom proudly wear the green, red and white. In a moment that will forever be etched into Corrimal history, Jye recently had the opportunity to share the field with three of his sons- Bailey, Levi and Ashton a memory that perfectly captures what our club is all about: family, community and tradition.

For 300 games, Jye has represented everything it means to be a Cougar — loyalty, passion, leadership and commitment. He has given so much to our club both on and off the field, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of players to come.

Congratulations Jye on an incredible 300 Senior Games. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for the Corrimal Cougars.

We will form a guard of honour for Jye as he runs out this Saturday 12pm at Ziems Park, let’s pack the ground for this legend!!
