With fuel prices, the cheapest way to enjoy your day is to grab a stick and hit a white ball. The Corrigin Golf Club gives you that opportunity. Why drive when you can walk ๐Ÿ™Œ it's time to give up doing cruciates in footy and come play the gentleman's game.
Cheapest beer in town and undoubtedly the best company in the country.
If you are looking for a good pre season then don't play golf, but if you are looking for a great pre season then why wouldn't you play?
The hardest challenges are generally the greatest achievements, come have a hit and a laugh
For just $20 you get a game of golf and pizza for dinner, what excuse can you come up with that denies you a great day?

Sunday 21st of September saw 19 avid men's and ladies golfers arrive for the 'Country Crash Repairs' trophy. Being a good 20 years since it was last played for. Many thanks to Leon and Naomi Edmonds for their generous donations, sponsorship and support to reignite this popular event.
Golfers were welcomed with a very unfamiliar sight, sun and blue skies ๐Ÿ˜ฏ disbelief was the emotion of the day as the wind decided to have a day off.
Everything was set for a perfect day of golf, newly crowned A grade club champion Ryan Szczecinski walked in pigeon chested and with an air of confidence almost scaring off the competitors with his recent achievements.
The men and ladies hit off and off the field went.
Some reports suggested our captain Craig Poultney struggled early in the perfect conditions, putting on an absolute swinging master class to score just 4 points in the first 9 holes.
Following them was a foursome mixed bag, Andrew Szczecinski and Kevin McMiles weren't their for their looks but they bought a dash of experience and comedic one liners, to round out the foursome was the Madame President Maria Guinness and the never ageing Lorraine Szczecinski.
3rd hole of the day for this foursome was met with an extraordinary feat, our ladies President Maria Guiness teeing off number 12 par 3 118m hit the perfect ball, some say you could hear angels sing as she made the perfect connection, the ball sailed like a perfectly crated paper airplane through the air, landed and rolled up on the green and made a bee line for the hole, it was like the ball knew where to go as it didn't deviate off the line and avoided the mysterious tyre marks on the green and it dropped into the hole. The group of 4 could be heard screaming and celebrating for miles as Maria for the first time got a HOLE IN ONE!!! Well done Maria such an amazing achievement and one that you will never forget. As Greg Humphrey's said 58 times during the night 'Welcome to the Club'

Meanwhile as our newly crowned A grade club champion Ryan went to tee off at number 1 hole, a fairly simple hole, a 400m par 4, getting out his trusty 3 wood as the driver holds too many fears for him, he went for the green in one and subsequently got half way to the ladies tee box that was a mere 20m in front of him. Not one to be discouraged by such bad luck he addressed the ball again for his second shot. He subsequently hit a hole in the tree and no one knew where this mysterious ball went. Having the luck of the Irish fortunately for Ryan they found the ball at the base of the tree and to his relief he managed to get passed the ladies tee box by a mere metre.
Oh how far the mighty can fall

The winners for the day
For the men, the title went to one man, with the new nick name 'Capeweed' as he only blossoms when the suns out. Was Kevin Hart on 40 points, a clear stand out performer on the day.
Runner up for the men was Clint Pitman on 33 points.

For the ladies
The winner of the day to no suprise was the hole in one connoisseur and ladies president Maria Guiness (unsure of score)
Runner up on 29 points was Lorraine Szczecinski
Well done to all the winners and the 7 novelties were shared out to people who weren't me so I lost interest ๐Ÿ˜œ

Big thankyou to Leon and Naomi for a great day and your very generous sponsorship and look forward to the return of the event next year.

On Sunday 14th of July the men's Championship finals were played. With the A grade teeing off at 8:30am for 36 holes of match play pitting 29 time champion Mark 'Shark' Szczecinski against his offspring who has yet to taste the ultimate prize Ryan 'Sharky' Szczecinski.
The weather made for some challenging golf, cyclonic winds and rain made the most avid golfers question their life choices in choosing to hit a white ball in such horrendous conditions.
Mark found the early going tough, minimal run and his usual precision around and on the greens leaving the door open for an upset.
Ryan like a fish in water found his groove early to ascertain an early lead to be 4 up after 18.
As they sat down and enjoyed their wives home cooked lunch each of them hoping the other would pull the proverbial pin due to the horrendous conditions, the combative nature of the pair ensured that was never an option.
Off they trotted for the second 18 of the ultimate prize and glory. The conditions didn't improve, it turned our to be a great day to fly kites but not an ideal day to swing a club.
Even with Ryan being 4 up early everyone who has played against Mark in match play knows he won't give up without a fight and his mental toughness will wear down the toughest of opponents has he has done so many times before.
After 32 holes the Shark made his presence known pe***ng Ryan's lead down to 1. This was the moment Shark was putting the question to Ryan.... 40 years of dreaming of this moment, would Ryan stand up and conquer what no other Szczecinski has been able to accomplish before him?
The answer is YES Ryan for the first time became the A grade club champion 3 up with 1 to play over his father, Shark.
Well done to Ryan well deserved and enjoy the spoils of the victory you worked so hard to achieve.
Well done Shark, yet another final and another great year of golf.
Big thankyou to Robin McLeary for umpiring the A grade final as the conditions wouldve been less than ideal out there.

In the other grades, the B grade final that pitted Greg Humphrey's up against Kevin McMiles was a star studded clash, 2 aging warriors were to battle it out for prize.
Unfortunately due to weather conditions Greg decided golf was not something he'd like to participate in and gave Kevin the win by forfeit. Well done Keggy on your victory,

In perhaps the most prestigious grade there can be C grade final saw Captain Craig Poultney come up against the slicing magnate in Daniel Philpott. Both were hoping the other would do a 'Greg' and forfeit but both knew that was a dream and not a reality.
The epic battle could be nearly made into a cinematic masterpiece. Both men produced some lucky shots and straight drives remarkably neither can hit a straight ball on a calm day.
But finals produce the impossible.
After 9 holes Daniel held a 3 up lead. Heading into the last 9 being the front 9.
Craig went to tee off on number 1 eyeing the green from the tee box, unfortunately he failed to reach the ladies tee box, as embarrassing as that was Craig won that hole.
Luckily for a fair bit of luck Daniel prevailed 5 up with 4 to go.
Well done Daniel and Craig for a great game.

Clint Pitman rocked up to play 18 holes of stableford and to his credit he played out 18 holes in trying conditions. Surprisingly winning the day Well done Clint
