💜⭕️💥Hooping Heroes💜⭕️💥
This week in our Hooping Heroes spotlight is our lovely Dianne Trower, who does so much for the Powerhoop Community, supporting our Pro’s at PowerhoopHQ and teaching classes in Somerset.
❓Can you please introduce yourself Dianne and tell us a little bit about your background?
💜My name is Dianne Trower. I’m married, and a Mum (my son is 25). I’m 57 years young and I’ve been teaching various fitness classes since 1995 - old skool instructor 🙂
❓How long have you been Powerhooping?
💜I’ve been teaching Powerhoop since 2013
❓What motivated you to start Powerhooping?
💜I came across Powerhoop one day by accident as I was on YouTube looking for some inspiration to choreograph other classes. I think you can say I was inspired!
❓How often do you hoop?
💜I teach powerhoop on a Monday evening & hoop at home as often as I can. I’m limited on space, so outdoors when I can plus when I practice new routines.
❓What challenges did you face when you started?
💜Even as a fitness instructor this was a new skill to me. Talking & hooping at the same time 😂
❓What’s been your most significant Powerhooping achievement?
💜I launched Powerhoop in Cornwall but since moved to Somerset. I have 2 instructors who have taken over my old classes and I launched Powerhoop in Taunton, Somerset. Keeping the powerhoop love spinning in the SW!
I loved being invited to film choreography content for our community of instructors & for PowerhoopTV. Working for PowerhoopHQ is a great privilege, supporting our wonderful & talented Powerhoop community around the globe!
❓Do you have any goals you’re working towards?
💜I would love to continue to teach Powerhoop for many years to come.
❓What do you love most about your Powerhoop classes?
💜My Powerhoopers are amazing! They’re so supportive when someone new joins the class. They’re engaged and we have so much FUN 🤩 The class has become a Powerhoop community & we have a great full body workout too!
❓What advice would you give to someone who has just started their Powerhoop journey?
💜If you’re new to PH, build up gradually, practicing in both directions for balanced training.
❓Do you have any tips for staying motivated & consistent?
💜Your body is capable amazing of things, trust in the process & be patient!
❓And lastly, tell us a fun fact about yourself that others might not know…?
💜Although I’m not a trained dancer, I was in a dance group and performed at the AfterShow Party at the 1992 Brit Awards! We were the opening entertainment to the likes of Seal, Yazz, Colour Me Bad, Kenny Thomas….!
AND one last fun fact. I used to be a magicians glamorous assistant, from disappearing in boxes with swords ⚔️ & alibaba baskets with flames 🔥 on prongs. …Ps: can I add I was girls 1980 gymnastic champion too 😉 in my local club back in the day 🤸
