**50 Games for Darion O'Toole!**

Today Round 9 of the AFL Community Men's Division Two competition, the Coota Blues proudly celebrate a special milestone as wingman **Darion O'Toole** runs out for his **50th game** in the blue and white against ANU at ANU South Oval.

At just 21 years of age, Darion's football journey has been one of dedication and continuous improvement. He spent the 2022 season developing his game with the Wagga Tigers Under 17s before making his senior debut for the Blues in 2023.

Better known as ‘Daz’, he has made the wing position his own with his pinpoint kicking, clean ball use, and smart decision-making. His hard work was recognised last season when he was awarded the Coota Blues Most Improved Player, and he has continued that upward trajectory in 2025, earning selection in the Blues' best players on three occasions from our opening eight matches.

Daz is a valued teammate and a popular member of the club, and everyone at the Coota Blues is incredibly proud of what he has achieved so far.

Congratulations on reaching 50 games, Daz. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you on Saturday and watching many more great games in the years ahead.

💙🤍 Go Blues! 💙🤍

🔵⚪ Coota Blues v ANU Griffins – Match Preview⚪🔵

The Coota Blues make another trip to the ACT tomorrow as they take on the third-placed ANU Griffins at ANU South Oval.

The Blues will be without key centre half-forward Dan Conway, who suffered a serious ankle injury last weekend. Dan’s absence is a significant loss for the side, and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.

The team has also lost Jason Norman following a training mishap. Jason’s enthusiasm, toughness, and ability to win the hard ball will certainly be missed.

Stepping into the key forward role tomorrow is Ben Rose, who is more than capable of making a strong impact and leading the attack.

There is also plenty of positive news, with Assistant Coach Michael Daniher returning to the side. His experience, leadership, and high-level skills will provide a major boost. The inclusion of standout full-back Kai Baumhammer further strengthens the Blues lineup.

Another important addition is dangerous forward Tristan Beaumont, whose pace, goal sense, and forward pressure should add plenty of spark inside the attacking 50.

Adding to the occasion, Darion O'Toole will celebrate a significant milestone when he runs out for his 50th senior game for the Coota Blues. Darion has been a valued contributor to the club, and everyone congratulates him on reaching this achievement.

Despite a few changes, the Blues squad remains settled and is performing strongly across the ground. Tomorrow presents another tough challenge before the side heads into two consecutive bye rounds.

🔵⚪ COOTA BLUES v ADFA RAMS

The Coota Blues secured their 7th win of the 2026 season on Saturday with a gritty 13-point victory over the ADFA Rams at RMC Oval.

In what was a tough, physical contest from start to finish, the Blues fought back from deficits at every break — trailing by 1 point at quarter time, 5 points at half time, and 6 points at the final change. A determined final quarter saw the Blues kick 3 unanswered goals while keeping the Rams goalless to run out winners, 12.6 (78) to 10.5 (65).

The Blues made a flying start with three goals in the opening seven minutes, but suffered a major blow midway through the first quarter when star Centre Half Forward Dan Conway was forced from the game with an ankle injury. Conway had been instrumental in the early momentum, and his loss was felt throughout the contest.

Once again, Joel Pearson led the way up forward, producing a clinical display in front of goal with 6 majors — half of the Blues' total score. His accuracy and composure were a standout feature of the win.

Jake Rodwell delivered his best game for the club, dominating in the ruck with an enormous work rate and capping off his performance with a crucial goal when it mattered most.

Captain Jacob Tiernan was outstanding across all four quarters, collecting plenty of the football and standing tall in key moments late in the game. Strong support came from Ben Rose, Flynn Sierant, Shaun Regan, Matt Knagge and Doug Arthur, while James Warwick, Jay Pennay, Jordan McMaster and Sam Crozier all made valuable contributions.

🔵⚪ COOTA BLUES v ADFA RAMS – ROUND 8 MATCH PREVIEW ⚪🔵

The Coota Blues make their third consecutive trip to Canberra this Saturday as they take on the highly unpredictable ADFA Rams at RMC Oval.

The Blues hosted a heavily depleted ADFA outfit in the opening meeting between the two sides this season, resulting in a convincing victory. However, tomorrow's clash shapes as a very different challenge.

Since that first encounter, the Rams have put together an impressive run of form, recording five straight victories. ADFA are renowned for their fitness, discipline and ability to run all day, and they'll be eager to extend their winning streak on the spacious RMC Oval.

The Blues will be without regular fullback Kai Baumhammer, with Matt Knagge stepping into the role. Luke Baumhammer returns to the side to resume ruck duties, while Doug Arthur lines up on a half-forward flank and is expected to spend valuable time through the midfield.

While ADFA teams can often be difficult to predict, one thing is certain—they will be well prepared and provide strong opposition. The Blues will be looking to dominate the clearances, work hard defensively, and create plenty of opportunities for dangerous key forwards Joel Pearson and Ben Rose. The larger ground should also suit Coota's running style of play in what promises to be a fascinating contest.
