A touchstone was once used to test the purity of gold.

At CrossFit Brisbane, it becomes something else: a year-long standard designed to test fitness, effort, and character.

Across four events, the Touchstone Series will test all 10 elements of fitness as defined by CrossFit.

“If I tell you, I’m ashamed.”

Patricia used to skip class every time handstands came up. She’d watched her husband and two daughters try to lift her against the wall (all three of them) and decided handstands weren’t for her.

Then Alana pulled her aside. “You need help scaling.”

She started PT. She scaled. She turned up to the sessions she used to dodge.

Now? “When she asks us to do handstand, I just do it. It feels so good every time.”

Scaling isn’t the smaller version of the workout. It’s the bridge to the full one. ❤️

Good scaling isn’t about avoiding the hard work.
It’s about preserving the intended stimulus so the athlete gets the right dose for today.

The goal: keep the workout’s challenge, pace, and movement pattern intact while matching the athlete’s current ability.

Scale with purpose:
• What is the intended stimulus?
• What should the athlete feel?
• What change keeps that intact?

Train the stimulus.
