Here’s our schedule for week 1

📍Qualifying Finals – Saturday 29th August at Ramblers
9:00am U13 football v Ramblers
10:00am U15.5 football v Imperials
11:10am Inters 1 netball v Imperials
12:45pm Reserves football v Southern Mallee
3:10pm A Grade netball v Imperials

📍Elimination Finals – Sunday 30th August at Karoonda
8:30am Inters 3 netball v Tailem Bend
11:10am Junior 2 netball v Tailem Bend
1:50pm C Grade netball v Mypolonga

Our final milestone this week goes to our very own netball President - Laura O’Leary!

Laura is the ultimate team person, always cheering her teammates on, offering encouragement and support, and striving to bring out the very best in those around her. She is the player you want on your team: committed, selfless and always giving her best.

We’re not sure where Laura finds the time to play netball, given everything she does off the court for the Cats as well. Since our inaugural year, Laura has worked endlessly giving so much to the club, including this year taking on the role of President of the Netball Club.

What an outstanding achievement – 150 games! Congratulations Laura.

Another huge milestone this weekend as Brodie Martin plays his 150th senior game, spanning his time with foundation club Meningie and now the Coorong Cats!

Brodie’s footy journey includes 38 AFL games for the Adelaide Crows, a 2016 SANFL Premiership with Sturt, and plenty of great footy back home.

His experience, leadership and footy knowledge continue to be a huge asset to our playing group.

Congratulations on 150 games, Brodie! A fantastic achievement.

Our next milsetone game this week is Lucy Dow! What an incredible milestone for Lucy, who will play her 100th senior game.

Lucy is a strong and consistent Goal Keeper who never gives up, her determination and resilience are a true reflection of the player and the person she is.

Before joining the Coorong Cats, Lucy played an impressive 58 junior and 66 senior games for BDT. At a young age she has already overcome the challenge of an ACL reconstruction and continues to show determination, strength, consistency and commitment on court for our A Grade team.

Lucy also commits to off court duties, committing to both coaching and umpiring this year, her dedication to both playing and to the club is appreciated by all.

Congratulations Lucy on this fantastic achievement. We wish you and the A grade team all the very best for your finals campaign.

For Round 18, we take on Imperials at Meningie in what promises to be a huge day of action across the field and courts.

Let’s get behind the teams, bring the noise and finish the minor rounds on a high! 🔥

Stick around after the action for Rump & Red — a great night to celebrate the season, enjoy some good food & wine, and catch up with the club community. 🥩🍷 There are still a few tickets remaining, head to the website purchase a table.
