The Pilates Method:

The Pilates Method is a physical and mental conditioning program developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. It blends a low impact muscle strengthening program with stretching exercises. Pilates focuses on developing core stabilisation, which refers to the support given to the spine and pelvis by the deep abdominal and back muscles. Pilates targets the deep postural musc

les, by building strength from the inside out. By emphasizing learning to breathe correctly, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and concentration on smooth, flowing movement, you become acutely in tune with your body. Proper breathing is essential, and helps you execute movements with maximum power and efficiency. Pilates also creates a thinking body which teaches people to become more mindful of their bodies during movement. By consciously thinking about how our body is moving, it will allow ease of movement, reduce physical imbalances and create correct recruitment patterns bringing the body into symmetry and balance to provide us with individual optimal postural alignment. The Pilates Method focuses on key principles in which every exercise is built around; Concentration, Control, Breathing, Centring, Precision, Coordination, Alignment and Flow of movement. Pilates helps to develop and enhance your:
- Core strength and stability
- Spinal and joint mobility and stability
- Muscle strength and definition
- Supports healthy breathing patterns
- Corrects posture and body alignment
- Connects mind and body and spirit
- Improves flexibility, balance and co-ordination
- Mood and energy levels

We’re now offering strength training in the studio, guided by a fully clinically trained Pilates Instructor and Qualified Personal Trainer.

These sessions are designed to safely improve functional everyday strength, joint stability, bone density and helping support longevity and everyday movement — all while maintaining the mindful, controlled approach you love in Pilates.

I am so grateful for each and every one of you. You are all the heart of this space.

Thank you for the raw conversations, the honesty you bring when you walk through the door, and for sharing how you truly feel each time you come in for a session. Thank you for the support you give one another, the kindness and the genuine sense of community we have created together.

This studio is so much more than movement — it’s connection, care, laughter, strength, and growth. It is with deep gratitude that I thank you all for allowing me to build and be part of such a beautiful business and community.

I’m Sarah a Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor ✨
I am currently undertaking my full Pilates Diploma and have completed my Cert IV and Reformer training!
I started Pilates 7 years ago when I first started being a Chef! It has supported me while working in the hospitality industry. Although I am not quite ready to let go of hospo just yet, I am combining my two loves of movement and cooking and finding a beautiful balance between the two careers.
Looking forward to teaching you, being part of the Mindful Pilates team and helping you gain more strength and more balance within your body!

At Mindful Pilates, we offer a full-body movement experience with all the Pilates equipment including a Cadillac/Trapeze table, Wall tower, Wunda chair, Spine Corrector, Reformer and a variety of small equipment, including foam rollers, balls, bands, weights, magic circles and Mat Pilates.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, improving mobility, strengthening, pre or post natal or deepening your practice, we’re here for you.

We take a holistic approach to achieving your goals considering a good variety of equipment, exercises and progression.

We specialize in private sessions, duo’s, and trio’s, all within a guided safe setting.

Plus, join our small mat class to deepen your pilates fundamentals on Thursday at 5.30pm.
