Thats a wrap for the Coolum Wedge's, Bill & Teds Excellent Bodysurf festival 2026. Thank you to all the contestants that make this a special event. Full of laughs and happiness and of course, insane bodysurfing, the Coolum Wedge ran this weekend and was another great event.
As always, a massive thank you to all of our sponsors, without them this would never happen. Thank you for being with us from the start and helping us grow the event to where it is today, for all your prizes that you donate, the look of the winners when they get their fins is priceless. A massive shout out to that provide us the food for the free BBQ and for for providing the refreshments, they taste so good after a day in the ocean. What an amazing weekend of bodysurfing. The 2026 Coolum Wedge Bodysurfing Festival, ran in fun 2-3 ft clean waves. The Bodysurfing was top level as competitors pushed and cheered each other on to perform at their best.
Coolum Beach was filled with laughs and cheers as the fifth Coolum Wedge ran.
The first day was the IBSA world qualifiers, then Saturday and Sunday was 'Bill & Ted's excellent Bodysurfing Festival'.
Well done to all the competitors that entered, it truly is an amazing sport and the bodysurfing grows better and better every year.
The Saturday night After party was held at the Coolum RSL, with the annual Bodysurfing trivia, the contest got serious with teams fighting for the top spot. A big thank you to Pizzami in Peregian beach for the thirty pizzas.
As alway a massive thank you to all of our sponsors that make this amazing event happen. Bank has been with us from the start and is our main sponsor that keeps the best bodysurfing festival in Australia and maybe the world going. That’s a wrap on the Coolum Wedge Bodysurfing Festival 2026.
What an incredible few days of salt, sun, and pure stoke. From glassy morning wedges to those challenging afternoon peaks, Coolum delivered — and so did every single person who showed up, charged hard, and shared the energy.
Massive thanks to everyone who made it happen: the competitors who pushed it, the crew who kept it running, the locals who welcomed us, and the legends cheering from the shoreline. This isn’t just a comp — it’s a community.
We saw electric moves, clean lines, plenty of wipeouts, and even more laughs. Exactly how it should be.

A huge congratulations to all the competitors that entered the 2026 IBSA World qualifiers for Australasia. The mens finals was won by Jack Lewis. The women's finals was won by Lyla Crouch. 👏👏👏 Another amazing contest where we got to watch Bodysurfing at its finest. Come on down to Coolum Beach to check out the Coolum Wedge Bodysurfing Festival that started straight after the IBSA qualifiers and will run again tomorrow. The World Tour qualifiers lit up Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast today for the Australia and Asia region.
With clean offshore winds and picture-perfect waves, the ocean was putting on a show—but it definitely kept competitors on their toes with some tricky conditions rolling through. That didn’t stop the action though… the level of bodysurfing was next-level, with insane talent on full display all day.
And we’re not done yet.......
Finals are going down tomorrow at Coolum Beach, where the conditions will be clean—setting the stage for the finalists to go all out and showcase their absolute best. See you tomorrow for the Finals. Then we will roll straight into the long awaited Coolum Wedge body surfing festival, which brings all the bodysurfers together for a fun two days of bodysurfing. Yeeeeeeeeeeew!!!!!!!!!!! .

The Mid-Festival After Party.
Saturday night, join your fellow competitors to celebrate our one-of-a-kind culture and vibe at the iconic Wedge Mid-Festival After Party.
Swap stories from the day and get ready to come back stronger on Sunday.
We’ll have heaps of bodysurfing videos on the night, playing on the big screen (you might even spot yourself), plus the return of our Bodysurfing Trivia Night—so get your team together and brush up on your whomping knowledge.
Entry is just $10, and kids are free. Drinks and food will be available from the bar.
The event has changed location and is now being held at the Coolum RSL, 1906 David Low Way, Coolum Beach, QLD, 4573. Starts at 6.30, so plenty of time for you to get all the sand out of your budgie smugglers and togs and drain the water from your ears and nose.
We look forward to seeing you all again for another Festival of Bodysurfing.

Then join us on Saturday for the Coolum Wedge 2026
All six Wedge divisions will be running across both days:� 🔥 Juniors (17 & Under)� 🔥 Masters (40–55)� 🔥 Tribal Elders (56–69)� 🔥 Wedge Wizards (70+)� 🔥 Men’s Open� 🔥 Women’s Open
As always, the Wedge sticks to its legendary promise — every competitor gets a minimum of two heats. Plenty of chances to snag your dream wave and show off your unique bodysurfing style.

Competitors will be scored on their best two waves…� Except for the iconic Wedge Wizards (70+) — judged on their single best wave. After last year’s epic performances, it’s the perfect format.

Volunteers Needed – Coolum Wedge Bodysurfing Festival.
We’re gearing up for an epic weekend at the Coolum Wedge Bodysurfing Festival, and we need an awesome crew of volunteers to help make it happen!
If you love the ocean, good vibes, and being part of a fun, community-driven event, we’d love to have you on board. No experience needed—just a positive attitude and willingness to get involved.
Volunteer roles may include:
• Event setup & pack-down
• Competitor check-in
• Water safety support
• Crowd engagement & info
• General event assistance
Location: Coolum Beach (The Wedge)
