An exciting night at the WACA tonight with our little club awarded a finalist at the national Cricket Australia Community Cricket awards! We were highly commended for our girls programme and came runner up across the whole of Australia.

Thank you so much to all of our dedicated players, parents and volunteers for their hard work in this space. We are so proud to be leading the way for girls to play cricket in WA.

Lastly, a massive thank you to our support staff at WA Community Cricket, we couldn’t do it without you.

CWPJCC AGM coming up!

A great opportunity to hear what's happening around the club, have some input into the season ahead, and support the people who keep junior cricket running behind the scenes.

No speeches required. No cricket knowledge test at the door. Just a room full of people trying to make the club better for the kids.

And statistically, the more people who attend, the lower your chances of accidentally ending up on a committee ;-)

We’re proud to be recognised as a Disability Inclusive Sports Club and to be awarded the WIN Badge! 🏅

At Coolbinia West Perth Junior Cricket Club, we believe sport is for everyone. We’re committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where people of all abilities can participate, contribute and belong. Being a club that truly reflects our community means removing barriers and making sure everybody has the opportunity to get involved.

Through participating in the WIN Project, an initiative by Inclusion Solutions, we undertook an assessment of our policies, programs and culture to ensure we’re building a more inclusive club for members with disability. Receiving the WIN Badge recognises our commitment to inclusion.

We’ll continue to learn, improve and create positive sporting experiences for all. If you’d like to learn more about getting involved at CWPJCC, we’d love to hear from you!

This season, we were proud to introduce a new perpetual trophy – the ‘Spirit of Cricket Award’ – created in honour of a wonderful young man who played many years for Coolbinia, but sadly is no longer with us, Angus Gow.

We were honoured to have Will Gow present the inaugural award to Armin from our Year 8 red team.

Armin is known for a calm, humble nature and unwavering commitment to teammates. A standout moment came earlier this season when, after helping steady the team in a crucial partnership, he returned to the crease knowing a teammate was just three runs short of a maiden century. After reaching his own milestone, Armin deliberately gave up his wicket to give his teammate the chance to achieve 100 runs, a truly selfless act done without any expectation of recognition.

Well done Armin, you are a worthy recipient of this new award. Thank you to Revo Cricket who donated part of Armin’s prize.

Our stage two and three teams enjoyed their trophy presentation last Sunday. Thanks to The Yokine for hosting and our special guests Frank Paolino MLA and Emily from North Perth Cricket Club for their attendance.

We are so proud of all of these older players, always representing our club with dignity and a sense of fairness. Well done all, trophy winners or not, you are all so valued at our club.

Last night we won the WA Community Cricket ‘Growing Cricket for Women & Girls’ award!

Emma, Diane, Kimberley & Bronwyn (our four longest serving committee members) attended the event at the newly redeveloped WACA ground.

Thank you so much to all of our past and present players, coaches and parents who have contributed to this over the past 8 years, especially our life member and inaugural girls’ coordinator Luke Chapman. We are honoured to accept this on everyone’s behalf 🥳
