Hume Little Athletics Centre Inc. Hume Little Athletics provides junior athletic competition for boys and girls from 5 to 15. We are located at Broadmeadows Valley Park, Barry Rd Meadow Heights.

Our season is from October through March each year and competition is held each Saturday. Go to the calendar section on our website for the dates of the registration days for September, click on the date you can attend and you will be given the locations as each one is different. Alternatively you can click on the Events tab on our main page. Competition starts on the first Saturday in October at 8.30am.

Please read the following message from Anthony McIntosh, CEO of Little Athletics Victoria, regarding the result of our recent Special General Meeting. Our current committee members will be holding a further meeting this week to discuss our plan to build up a strong committee that can deliver an excellent season for 2023/24 :)

Dear Hume LAC families.

As you may be aware, this is to formally confirm that Hume LAC (‘HLAC’) will go into recess for season 22/23. This means that the Centre won’t be operational for the coming 12 months.

This decision was taken by those that attended the HLAC meeting held on Wednesday 31st August. At this meeting, not enough committee positions were filled to operate effectively for the coming season. Little Athletics Victoria (‘LAVic’) will assist with providing guidance over the coming year to best position HLAC to recommence Little Aths activities for 23/24. Pleasingly, HLAC’s assets are in good hands and secure in the interim period.

Most importantly, the highest priority is to keep HLAC athletes and families participating in Little Athletics for season 22/23. To that end, HLAC families are encouraged to join nearby Centres – such as Craigieburn, Keilor, Whittlesea City, Sunbury, Preston-Reservoir and Coburg - to continue their participation

Looking forward to season 23/24, discussions need to be had in coming weeks with the Hume Council to secure HLAC’s future at Broadmeadows Valley Park. I take great confidence that HLAC provides a great opportunity for an energetic and visionary committee to take HLAC forward on a journey for another 50+ years.

Cross Country Season Begins!

Hello everyone! The Cross Country Season for 2022 is about to begin!

Starting from this Saturday 30th April, and going through until Saturday, 13th August, various tracks in the Northern Metro area will host the Cross Country running events.

The season costs $24 per athlete, and payment will need to be made to the club's account. If you had already registered for the summer athletics, you do not need to re-register either.

The current calendar for the Cross Country season is included below as well.

Championship, AGM and 50th Anniversary Day!

Hello everyone!

-Saturday 19th March, 8:30am
-Annual General Meeting for all Members
-Championship Day
-Awards and Medals
-Our 50th Anniversary!

This Saturday, 19th March will be a special day for us, as we will be running our Annual General Meeting and our Championship Day!

The Annual General Meeting is required for all members, so we can discuss the past and upcoming seasons. The meeting starts early in our clubrooms at 8:30am, so we can wrap things up without interfering too much with our Championship Day plans.

Championship Day itself is scheduled to be a fun day full of the events our athletes have chosen, with the opportunity to win medals for their efforts on the day! We also have several season awards and trophies to hand out during the day.

And if that wasn't enough, there is also our 50th anniversary to celebrate as well!

We look forward to you joining us early on Saturday at 8:30am, so we can get through most of the day on schedule.

Hello everyone.
-Twilight Competition Cancelled 9 March

We have just arrived to start setting up for tonight, but unfortunately due to Council works, the track has become very flooded.

We have no choice but to cancel our Twilight Competition tonight, while the Council works on repairing the irrigation system.

We hope you will all have a safe and fun Labour Day weekend, and we will see you on the 19th for our Championship Day!

Friendly reminder: Twilight Competition is tomorrow night on Wednesday, 9 March!

For those who have not attended a Twilight before, they are like a normal competition but with 4 events instead of 5.

Warm ups start at 6pm, and the canteen will be open! We look forward to seeing you at Twilight!

We are aware that there is a lot of rain scheduled to come in overnight, and we will be at the track very early tomorrow morning to take a look.

*IF* we do have to cancel competition tomorrow morning, we will make that decision before 7:30am.

Rest assured that if you do not hear from us by 7:30am, then we are still running :)

Unfortunately, we have not had a volunteer to help us run the canteen, therefore it will not be open tomorrow 26 February.

Please ensure you bring your own food and drinks, and bear in mind that we will have high jump tomorrow and may run a slightly longer day than usual.

We have been advised by a few committee members that for various reasons, they are unable to attend competition this coming Saturday.

Therefore if you are able to volunteer to help out in the canteen that would be appreciated. If you can help please let us know or we may need to look at closing the canteen for this Saturday's competition.
