Cable Kickbacks Right/Wrong! ✅❌
❌ Standing upright and swinging the leg back
✅ Slight forward lean, hinge at the hip before you kick
❌ Ankle attachment too loose, rotating during the movement
✅ Secure fit, ankle locked in throughout
❌ Kicking from the knee, using momentum
✅ Driving from the glute, slow and controlled
❌ Overextending the lower back to get more height
✅ Stopping where the glute is fully contracted, not where the back takes over
❌ Letting the hips rotate with each rep
✅ Hips square, core braced throughout
Cable kickbacks are a glute isolation exercise. If you’re feeling it in your lower back or hamstrings, the setup needs adjusting!
