So I have been thinking about getting some signs made up to reinvigorate our campaign to stop jetski tours operating from Coningham Beach. Anyone interested? Thinking they could be put up on properties around the place, and maybe on boat sheds at the beach?

Tonight Kingborough Council voted against taking action to stop jet ski tours operating at Coningham Beach. Such a shame that they refuse to really analyse the advice that their staff are providing them. Tonight Council were told that the home based business operation is not subservient to the jet ski tours operating from Coningham Beach. They were also told it was MaST not Council that are the regulators. Once again they misconstrued the legislation and did not realize the power that they have to overturn the approvals the GM of Council issued.

Kingborough Council will be considering our petition against the approvals they have issued for a jet ski tour business to operate from Coningham Beach on Tuesday 13 June. Come along to the Council meeting on Tuesday night and show your opposition to the continued use of Coningham Beach by this business.

The Petition to Kingborough Council will be tabled at the Council meeting on Monday night 22 May. Likely not to result in discussion, with discussion deferred until 13 June. Still probably worth attending to show them we mean business.

We lodged our Petition with Kingborough Council on Friday 11 May. The Petition is likely to be discussed by Council on 13 June. At that meeting members of the public will be able to ask questions. I plan to attend, with questions ready! I hope that many of you may be able to join me. Further updates to come.
