Congratulations to our 17th Junior Centurion, Harley Buchan.

Seventeen year old Harley played 20 matches this year across 3 senior grades and colts reaching 106 games as a Junior by the season’s end.

Harley played for Briars under 8s continuously through to under 15, finishing on 86 junior games in 2023. In 2024 and 2025 Harley took on a Junior Coaching Mentor role, volunteering to help develop and support our younger Briars. His return to Briars in 2026 facilitated Harley reaching the 100 Junior games milestone.

Last night at Briars Rugby Seniors presentation night, Harley received the Goblet of Briars and his 100 game cap, also winning the Third Grade Most Improved player.

Champion young man who truly lives and breathes the ethos of “ONCE A BRIAR, ALWAYS A BRIAR!

Good luck to our Under 14s St Pat’s Briars boys as they take on Mosman this afternoon in the semi-final.

The growth and development this season
both as players and young men has been awesome to watch.

No two volunteers are the same - they come in all shapes, sizes, gender and ages.

Briars Juniors were proud to host the Under 18s Country Championships this long weekend and even prouder of our many volunteers who lent a hand across the two days.

Thanks for being a part of our Briars family.

Many sons have followed in footsteps of their dads and donned the Briars gold for juniors. Aaron, Will and Toby Boyter, Matt and Daniel Crippa, Harvey and Sebastian Sauran as family Centurions have led the way in the past.

Last weekend, only the second ever instance of a father following his son into Briars colours occurred.

Matthew Cameron debuted for the Briars Bin Chickens and even backed up in third grade. With Matt two games in, five year old Henry is already a season ahead of dad.

Briars Rugby - built around families, for our families.
