Rookie Singles at Port City
In a high classed final that any pro bowlers would be proud of Stephen Cameron from Lake Cathie & Clayton Ward from Comboyne put on a show.
In the end Stephen was slightly more consistent at times which was the difference running out to win 17-9.
Commiserations to Clayton & well done on making the final.
Also Congratulations all the best to Stephen at State.

We are holding a fundraising bowls day on Sunday 9th August to help our grade 4 pennant team get to the state finals in Bomaderry & Nowra.
Please consider coming to this day & helping us subsidise the cost of the travel, accommodation & food for the players.
It will be a fun day, not to be missed.
This team in 11 years has gone from Grade 7 to a start in Grade 3 next year, a huge achievement for a small club.

The Peter Brown Green.

On Sunday the bowling club held a day to celebrate the achievements & voluntary hours put in by our long time green keeper Peter Brown over many, many years.

We had people come from far & wide for the day, including Melbourne, Wauchope, Kendall, Lansdowne, Kew, Coopernook & of course our locals.

We had a great day of bowls. The green was full with 50 bowlers who came to celebrate with Peter.

We hosted 80 people at our lunch, with a spit roast lunch & a cake for dessert.

This was all to say thank you to Peter Brown for his dedication & hard work on the green over many years. The bowling club committee thought it was fitting that we name the green in his honour.

It was so great to see his family, friends & the bowls community come together & celebrate this great occasion.

We must thank all the volunteers, donators of veggies & cakes & the staff that helped on the day & made it a success. Also to Mathew Gardner for donating the timber for the sign, Keven Angel for doing the lettering & Kendall Men's Shed, also to Gail & Jan for making sure Peter actually came on the day.
