Grief, loss and devastation has had a massive impact on the Echo Park Speedway family this year with the passing of Kevin Beauchamp, our fearless leader Gavin Saxby and now tragically Luke O'Brien.
It is with devastating sadness that we say see you again mate to one of our Echo Park Speedway family members. Luke lost his life at Saraji Mine on Monday night.
You were only just starting to make your mark off the track in the speedway world with your business "Flatout Mechanical and Engineering" in the fabrication of Modlites, trailers and sedan barwork. This world has definitely missed out seeing your potential in continuing to grow into the wonderful person that you already were and will miss out on seeing you race on a speedway track and only get better with each race.
We can't thank you enough for the time you spent at Echo Park Speedway giving your time to help out on weekends that you could have been spent doing other things. You were one of a kind, who would jump in and help out, always give advise, just a fantastic great person, with the coolest mullet on the planet.
27 is just too young mate - you should have had your whole life ahead of you fulfilling all the dreams that you had. There are simply no words that we can say to Terry, Yvette, Chae, John, Ray, Mr O'Brien and your beautiful partner, Morgan, that will bring them any peace in this devastating time.
For those that truly loved Luke there is no getting over this devastation, there is simply an existence in a new world that began the second he left. This emptiness will forever be there, simply take each second, each minute, each hour, each day to breath.
Our heartfelt condolences go to your beautiful family members, your gorgeous partner Morgan and to everyone who knew you. You have joined an amazing group in the sky - Kevin, Gavin, Gerard and your grandma.
It has been a privilege to know you and watch you grow throughout the years. You are going to be so missed mate. RIP mate! See you on the other side of the chequered flag!
