Day 1 at the Trusted by 2,000+ studio owners worldwide summit, we did the Five Voices questionnaire with Rohan Dredge. Ange and I read our results, turned to each other at exactly the same time, and just started laughing. Because it had us both completely worked out.

We sit at opposite ends of it. And straight away we could name the moments.

The meeting a few months back where I walked out convinced we’d agreed on something and she walked out convinced we’d agreed on something completely different. Same room, same hour, two different conversations. That’s me racing to the punchline while she’s still waiting for the context I skipped.

Sitting in that room, it clicked that the difference is the design. Two of me and this business would be a graveyard of half-built ideas. Two of Ange and we’d still be perfecting studio one. It works because we pull from opposite ends.

If you run a business with someone or lead a team, do the questionnaire. It takes ten minutes. Understanding your own voice is useful. Understanding that the person across from you has a different one changes how you run everything.

Four studios. And the honest truth is we didn’t get here by grinding harder.

Last week Ange and I were at a Mindbody partnership event with other business owners from the industry, and it reminded me of something I wish someone had told me earlier. The businesses that scale aren’t the ones with the hardest working founders, they’re the ones with the strongest foundations underneath them.

Your software, your suppliers, your partners - most people treat these as a line item, a cost to the business or something else to manage. But these are the decisions that either hold your business up or quietly pull it apart from underneath.

When you get that layer right, you stop spending your energy patching and fixing. You start spending it building, because that’s where real growth lives.

Pick your partners like they matter, because they do.

I’m a real human being I swear!!! 😭😂

But I completely get it. With the prevalence of AI and push in the business space to automate everything in sight, it’s no wonder people online are skeptical they’re talking to a real person.

Which is why we at Feel Good prioritise human connection in the online space; just real conversations and responses, which has in turn has created real connections.

And when you’re in the business of serving people, creating real connections should be the bed rock of everything you do.
