Tuning day all done for the LUXE Performance RX8 cup cars . Unfortunately not much track time with a large oil spill from another car and a few red flags. But we are all set and ready to go for tomorrow's final race meeting of the season. Massive shout out to Craig Saywell from CJS Motorsport and Des Leeder for getting both cars all tuned up and ready to go. Weekend of highs and lows
"That is Motorsport"🚗💨💨

This race meeting I jumped into the #32 Luxe Performance RX8 cup car with the main man Brent jumping back into his #16 Luxe performance RX8 cup car for this round at CARCO.com.au Raceway with the West Australian Production Car Racing series.

This round being my 1st race at carco.com.au raceway in a RX8. The expectation was just to find a groove and keep it clean.

Q: P3 (In class) P1(RX8 cup cars)
Qualifying was unreal coming away with the fastest time ever set by a RX8 cup car and smashing the rest of the RX8 field with a 1:08.1 the next closest car 1.3sec behind. Getting back to the garage and having Brent as excited as me about my lap time was definitely a high light of my weekend.

R1: P3( In class )P1 (RX8 cup cars)
Still learning with launching these RX8s off the line. I smoked the rear tyres thinking I was at Summernats😂 Settling in for the 10 lap race. About 4 laps in we had a brake issue with a ABS fault causing a few hairy moments and locking the front tyres into turn 6.

R2: DNF
After starting the race and settling in for another 10 laps a fellow competitor had a incident at turn 1 a couple of laps in resulting in a red flag and bring the entire race field back into pits. Once the track was cleared we were given our starting orders which unfortunately for us is where our trouble started with the starter motor failing and unable to re start the race. (Hope your okay Laurie and not to sore after the incident and look forward to seeing you back next round ) 🙏

R3: P3(In class) P1 (RX8 cup cars)
Having to start rear of grid for the 15 lap race due to the issues in race 2, I was ready for the challenge of making my way through the other RX8 cup cars and having a really good battle with them. Got a decent start and quickly got onto the back of Brent going 2 wide for majority of a lap before putting a move on into the bowl and gaining the leading position of RX8s.

Overall: P5 (In class ) P3 (RX8 cup cars)

Special shout out to Trevor Leonard for coming down and being my crew chief, being in my ear on the radio an making some great calls over the day .(definitely be having you back for future events ⭐

Awesome weekend running the #16 Luxe Performance RX8 at Collie Motorplex in the West Australian Production Car Racing category.
I'll start off by thanking Brent and the Peter's family for giving me the opportunity to race their cars and supporting me on and off the track I can never thank you guys enough for allowing me to live out my dream of door to door racing. 🥰

The crew Des Leeder and Craig Saywell you guys made my weekend easier giving me one rule focus on driving and we will take care of the car. None of these results would of been possible without your help all weekend and I'm sincerely grateful to have you legends making the car a rocket ship with your setup and expertise around a rotary vehicle. ☺️

Sincerely appreciate the Ferguson family who drove down to support me for the weekend you guys are awesome and appreciate the support. 😍

Also thankyou to Mum for coming down and make sure I stayed hydrated and also getting involved with the guys helping out around the car. 🥰

Most of all massive thank you to my family for putting up with my love of motorsport and being away from home to do what I love 2nd most. 😜

Qualifying on a very cold morning we secured a new PB lap time for car and driver (1.21.486) ending up P2 in class and 7th overall.

Race 1
We got in a groove being P3 (in class) most of the race having a epic battle with a improved production Mitsubishi Evo making sure I did not ruin each others races as I'm not actually racing the Evo for position we held on to the back of him to finish P3(in class) and 10th overall.
Race 2
Starting out of (P3 in class)10th overall we were right in the middle of some very quick cars . Luck turned our way with P2 in class suffering a mechanical issue allowing us to finish up P2 (in class ) 9th overall.
Race 3
Just wanted to hold my position and hopefully come home with a clean car and good day racing. We managed just that getting on to the back of the Renault Megane which was P1( in class) we didn't quite have the horse power to make a move but managed to keep him in our sights and come away with another P2 ( in class) and 9th overall.

Overall P2 for the round of WA production cars 🥈

Massive congratulations to Damien Croxon Racing - DCR - powered by DC Auto Centre for the round Win and a clean sweep of the weekend with 3 race wins over the day.

A dream weekend for the Luxe Performance race team P1 & P2 overall and both cars back on the trailers in one piece. 🥇🥈
We will wait on the boss man (Brent) to come back from his trip to New Zealand and do a video review of the weekend which will be up on the Luxe Performance YouTube channel.
