Hey Everyone! I hope you are as excited as us to be back in person training at Collaroy Plateau Hall tonight (St Rose) please spread the word! Also see below for Covid Guidelines and Rules we need to follow to commence.

1) - Max class sizes are 20
2) - Masks for the 12 and over are required INSIDE - we will be teaching the majority of classes outside though or under the cola
3) - Any Student or Teacher 16years and over will require a double vaccination certificate to attend.
4) No parents on site at this stage.
5) No Adults Classes on site at this stage - proceeding online
6) Following our Covid Safety plan already in place with frequent hand sanitising and social distancing.

Hey Kenpo Freestylers, we are up and running on our online Zoom classes. Our first class is tomorrow morning. Please go on to https://ikarate.com.au/ to sign up. Our instructors need your support to get through this difficult time, and we appreciate your help in getting this club through to the other side. The classes are lots of fun and will help the kids burn off all that excess energy during lockdown. Also, in progressing with their belt levels and not losing any momentum toward their goals. Look for your usual instructor from the choices offered on the website. There will also be detailed instructions going out. We are looking forward to seeing you online!

Hi everyone, WOW - last weeks free teen and adult self defence workshop was amazing! Thanks for all those who got involved, had some fun and raised awareness. We covered lots of grab techniques and how to find those weaknesses to stay safe. Hi Everyone, We are running a FREE Teens & Adults Self Defence and Kickboxing workshop for the community for the next 5 weeks at our Collaroy Plateau Karate School on Wednesday Nights at 5.30pm until the end of term. We want to help inform the community about how to protect themselves and have some fun doing it. All levels welcome from beginner to expert - all styles welcome too if you just want to broaden your knowledge and information. Karate is back! Term 4 2020 is HERE with our first classes starting Wednesday the 21st of October. Registration through the first 4 weeks of school term. Operating from our old venue St Rose Catholic Primary School 🥳🎉

Ready for sparring this week? We are using Covid safe procedures and limiting partners - Check out some of the amazing talent in the black belt class doing some drills for Spinning Back kicks and Spinning Hook Kicks. All of these students started Australia's Youth Self Defence as Children 5 and up - look at them now! This shows you what the work over time can achieve, we are so proud of our karate family 😍💥🥋🙏

👉Bitter Sweet Week - We are moving temporarily to Collaroy Plateau Community Centre - Effective immediately💥 (Tonight)

Due to new regulations brought out by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay we unfortunately are losing our training hall at St Rose Catholic Primary for the time being.

We are very sad about this as we have been there for 8 years. We have a great relationship with the school and love the premises but with the ever-changing Corona situation - we must also adapt to the new situation. We say goodbye for now, hopefully not for long or forever.

For the remainder of the term we will be using the COLLAROY PLATEAU COMMUNITY CENTRE - on Plateau Park, on the southern end of Blandford Street off Telopea Street which is a 3-minute drive (or 8 min walk) from St Rose - So very close! Ample free parking on site :)

Classes will run at the same times with one exception - the sparring class for advanced students will be starting from 5pm instead of 5.30pm - to avoid overlap with our adults classes which start at 6pm.

Come join the fun at Collaroy Plateau Karate St. Rose Catholic Primary School, 8 Rose Ave, near corner of Veteran’s Pde. Classes run every Wednesday from 4pm with new term registration commencing 29th July.

NEW STUDENTS receive their first lesson Free of Charge - just show up on the day and we will take care of the rest!

Hey Kenpo Freestylers,
Today we are starting our very first online classes. These classes tonight are going to service the Collaroy Plateau Karate School and the Bellevue Hill Karate School.

If you want to participate and join these classes, you will need to set up a Zoom account as per the email sent out yesterday. If you did not receive the email, please comment below.

We will update this post shortly with the link to follow to access the sign in portal.

Aside from this, please make sure that you have a space at home, working we**am and mic.

We are very excited to launch this today, please bare with us as it is our first attempt. Your zoom class will run at it's regular time: 4:00, 4:45, 5:30, 6:15 etc.

Classes will be open to join from start time until 10 minutes after start time only. After that, there will be no option to join, so don't be late!

Please share with everyone you know from karate so they can participate.

We had to make the decision today to close all of our schools effective tomorrow at noon. Although the public schools remain open, and it was our intention to tether our classes to them, it became clear after the Prime Minster’s announcement today that we would not be able to continue.

Despite all the safety measures we put in place, it becomes necessary to cease operations indefinitely to fall in compliance with the law and to protect the health and safety of our students. This is a very sad day for our Kenpo tribe and especially our great instructors, everyone will suffer. This is extremely disappointing to us, just as it has been for you and your children.

We hope this situation is under control soon and we can resume as quickly as possible. We will give all students credit for their classes attended this term for their grading qualification when we resume.

Important notice to all students: we start a new ten-week term this Friday through next Thursday. Any students who have visited the Wuhan area of China in the last few months must wait two weeks from the time they entered Australia to participate in our classes. This is for the safety of our students, parents, and instructors. Sorry for the inconvenience.

UPDATE on our Spring BREAK camp! We are in day four today with our intermediate students building their confidence, skills and making new friends! Have a look at some of the action.
