❌ VICTORIA POLICE COMMUNITY SAFETY ADVICE ❌
🌧️ **Flooding and Dangerous Road Conditions Across Victoria** 🌧️
Victoria Police is urging all motorists and members of the community to exercise extreme caution as heavy rainfall continues to impact many parts of the state.
Roads can become flooded with little warning, and even shallow water can hide serious hazards including damaged road surfaces, debris, potholes, and strong currents.
**Remember: If it's flooded, forget it.**
Drivers are reminded to:
🚔 Slow down and increase your following distance.
🚔 Never drive through floodwaters, regardless of how shallow they may appear.
🚔 Obey all road closure signs and emergency service directions.
🚔 Turn on your headlights when visibility is reduced by rain.
🚔 Check local road and weather conditions before travelling.
🚔 Avoid unnecessary travel in areas affected by flooding.
Parents are also urged to ensure children stay away from flooded creeks, drains, rivers and waterways, as fast-moving water can be extremely dangerous.
Emergency services are continuing to respond to weather-related incidents across Victoria. Your patience and cooperation help keep everyone safe.
If you encounter an immediate danger to life, call **Triple Zero (000)**.
**Stay informed. Stay alert. Stay safe.**
