📟 Just after 5:30pm yesterday, fire crews from Lilydale, Mt Evelyn Fire Brigade & Coldstream CFA Fire Brigade were paged to a structure fire in Lilydale. Further information indicated the fire was threatening neighbouring properties and structures.

🧑‍🚒 Crews arrived on scene to a double garage fully alight which adjoined to the house.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and protected the house and nearby properties from any further fire damage.

🔥 Lucky nobody was injured and the house only sustained limited damage. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the garage. Although the cause is not yet known, this serves as a timely reminder that fires can happen any time and anywhere. There have been a number of garage fires locally this year, so consider installing smoke alarms inside your garage that interconnect with the one's inside your home.

💨 A special thanks to Bayswater Fire Brigade-CFA for their support with their Breathing Apparatus truck, Eyewatch - Yarra Ranges Police Service Area and Ambulance Victoria.
