Colac west cricket club junior

On behalf of the Colac West Cricket Club and leadership group, we can confirm that in early July, a meeting was called by Colac West Cricket Club where it was agreed to merge with Warrion Cricket Club, with the two clubs working hard this past couple months on realising there respective motions. We can report that last night the two clubs came together for a combined meeting, passing a motion to merge and electing the new committee.

I would like to thank all of our life members, past and present players, sponsors, parents and supporters of this great club, Colac West, for your support and in shaping this club over the years to what it eventually became. I would also like to welcome you to our new club West Warrion Panthers who will operate out of the Warrion Cricket Ground and the Western Oval, Colac where it will support 3 senior teams in each of the divisions and 3 junior teams (1 in under 14 – 2 in under 17). We sincerely believe that by joining these two proud clubs we are bringing together the best of each. Importantly, we sincerely believe West Warrion will play a significant role within the Colac District Cricket Association for many years to come.

I encourage everyone to like our new page, get involved with our new club and the new future of West Warrion. It is exciting times and we welcome all to get involved.

How good is this. Boys are able to get outside with their mates and enjoy 🏏. Big thank you to Warrion CC for agreeing to amalgamation and enabling this all to happen too.

Hi guys, We hope that everyone has had a happy and safe off-season and are looking forward to running around outside with their mates again. We have been given the "go ahead" by state government for cricket training this season, commencing last week. As a club we have put together a return to train and play Covid plan to ensure your child's health is protected to the best of our ability and in accordance with the recommendations from the state health officer.

That’s right! Welcome back to the western oval for cricket training. Starting this Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th September at 4pm.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Bring along your mates too - the more we have the better it is.

With around 100 aspiring junior cricketers at the lake oval on Saturday morning, was great that they could learn from our Colac West players like Matt McKay, Reegan Harty, Tom O'Farrell, Nathan Barnden, Darcy Dwyer, Brenden Ford, Owen Smith, Josh Bright and myself. Thanks boys, let’s hope a few of them enjoyed their time and choose to come to west in coming years.

To all Colac West players, parents and supporters. On Friday the 12th March at 6pm we will be holding our 2020/21 Senior (3 senior teams) and Junior (2 junior teams) presentation night at the Western Oval Social Clubrooms.

It will cost just $10- a head which covers hire of the venue and pizza. Drinks will be available at the bar.

Hopefully we will see you all there to celebrate a great year of cricket with our Division 1 team back in the finals and help acknowledge and celebrate all trophy winners.

Thanks to Reegan Harty for running senior training last night. I hope you all enjoyed it and feel that training in this way could improve your game and lead to a successful season. Great to see strong numbers and new faces too. Welcome to Colac West CC for season 2020/21.

With the first senior game coming up next Saturday 31st we have Tyler Flanigan achieving the milestone of playing his 100 game for West, Alexander Gunning needing 1 wicket to achieve a career milestone of 150 wickets for West and Samuel Mulgrew needing 3 wickets to reach 50. Josh Vagg is just 79 runs away from reaching 2000 career runs for West too.

With the Under 17’s kicking off on Tuesday 27th we have Joe Rabbette about to play his 50th game and Josh Bright needing 1 wicket to take his career tally to 50.
