I just got back from - a 4 day festival of workshops run by a group of somatic s/xologists. I had two main reasons for wanting to go:

1. To allow my nervous system to soften and to come back into my body after pushing myself through extreme burnout.
2. To build connections with other practitioners and professionals. It can be quite lonely in a regional area where there isn’t anyone else doing similar work.

Ok 3rd reason - I just love learning about s/x and intimacy!

It was a perfect chance to disconnect from tech and I didn’t take a single photo the whole time I was there, which is unusual for a photographer who obsessively captures everything. So I’m very pleased that Rhiannon .spectrum insisted we grab these cheeky clips on the last day with the glorious 🐓

The event was a sensory delight and I returned home a more familiar version of myself. A reminder of how important it is to find your freaks and a place where you can truly be yourself.

You’ve been accusing yourself of being broken for not wanting secs, but is there actually something else going on?

We often claim to have low drives, when in fact, our body or nervous system is crying out for something else. We need to feel safe, confident and connected to create space for desire.

This isn’t a conclusive list, but is 5 of the many reasons that show up for clients that I work with.

Do any of these resonate for you? Get in touch for 1:1 support. I have upcoming space for online and in person sessions in Coffs Harbour.

Feel like every time you try to initiate, there’s an excuse? That’s not your partner rejecting you. They just haven’t been given the right environment and cues to feel desire. And when you approach them, they feel pressured to feel arousal and desire instantly, so to avoid that pressure, they avoid intimacy entirely.

I know that sometimes you might look at your partner and instantly want them, but that spontaneous desire doesn’t actually occur for everyone. In fact, 85% of women have responsive desire, meaning that they need to feel some sort of connection, kissing or touch before their body becomes aroused and their brain can process the feeling of desire. That’s normal. It’s not something to be changed or fixed.

So if you’re wanting to connect with your partner, instead of going straight in with the finger guns and eyebrows - try examining the space around you and how you can make it more relaxing, romantic or sensual for your partner. Offer them some low-pressure touch or way of connecting before going straight to s-x.

A sensual massage is a great way to slow down and connect before intimacy. I recommend the Juicy intimate oil by - it’s all natural, hypoallergenic and pH balanced so it’s great for internal and external use. It’s safe to taste and is long-lasting, so you don’t need to constantly reapply.

When it comes to perimenopause, hot flashes are just the beginning.
For many women, it’s a period of relearning their own body and sexuality.

Perimenopause is a period of significant shift, but it doesn’t have to end intimacy or desire.
In fact, for many women, it can be the beginning of a deeper, more authentic relationship with themselves.

This workshop is a warm, empowering space to explore the changes that can impact pleasure and intimacy during perimenopause, learning how to work with the changing body instead of against it.

Through practical education, somatic practices, gentle movement, nervous system regulation, and guided reflection, you’ll discover new ways to connect to your body and sensuality.

This is the third instalment of our monthly Power & Pleasure to the Women workshops at the fabulous

You’re in your head before you even enter the bedroom.

You’re doing all the right things to please your partner, but still feel like you’re guessing half the time.

Your body serves as a functional tool. Pleasure is a means to an end.

You know there’s more to intimacy, but you don’t know where to start.

To the man who wants to stop performing and start feeling.

The man who knows he is a good lover, but sometimes feels lost.

The man who is ready to step into his sensuality.

Join me for an evening of conversation, where you’ll learn practical skills in:
* Stepping out of performance mode
* Connecting with and being present in your body
* Understanding and communicating your needs and desires
* Listening to your partner and truly giving
