That kid in these photos wasn’t sporty, wasn’t confident, and definitely wasn’t getting picked first.

And that’s exactly why I coach the way I do.

Because I remember what it felt like walking into something and thinking everyone else just knew what they were doing and I was just… not that person.

So when I tell you to keep it simple, to just show up, to stop waiting until you feel ready, I mean it. Not because it sounds nice, but because it’s what actually works.

And just remember, I’m not special. I’m just someone who’s done this more times than you have.

Coaching isn’t about making you the best in the room. It’s about helping you become someone who keeps turning up.

Confidence comes after, not before. And sometimes it starts with being the one who came last and deciding to go again anyway.

If your shoulder press feels a bit off… it’s probably not a strength thing.

It’s usually your setup.

I see this all the time. People keep pushing through it, hoping it’ll sort itself out… and then wonder why their shoulder is always a bit niggly.

Make a couple of small changes here and it feels completely different.ďż˝
Better position with more control.

Give this a go next time you press and tell me how it feels.

You don’t need more motivation. You need to drop the idea that it has to be all or nothing.

I see this all the time. Miss one session and suddenly the whole week’s written off. Go a bit off track and it turns into “I’ll start again Monday”. Then Monday comes… and the cycle repeats.

The shift is smaller than you think. Do something instead of nothing. A shorter session. Fewer exercises. A quick walk. It all counts.
One of my clients changed nothing about her programme. She just let go of needing to do it perfectly. Now she’s actually getting to the gym more and building momentum again.

Progress isn’t built on perfect weeks. It’s built on showing up, even when it’s not ideal.

If you’re stuck in that stop start cycle, you’re not the only one. And you don’t need to figure it out on your own. Send me a message and we’ll sort it.

First community meet-up done, and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. Beautiful weather, a bit of adventure with the dinghy crossing thanks to the bridge being out, and a cracking walk with a group of absolute legends.

This is exactly why I wanted to start these… getting people together, moving, chatting, and just enjoying it.

We finished up at .h.e_b.l.a.c.k_a.p.p.l.e for coffee and food, and plenty of “we should do this more often” energy… which is exactly what we’re going to do.

I’m so proud of this group. Showing up on a Saturday morning, supporting each other, having a laugh along the way… that’s the stuff that matters. This is more than just training.

Thank you to everyone who showed up today. I’m excited for the next one.

Just a couple of ladies giving it a go!

Boredom isn’t a bad sign. It’s often a sign your programme is working.

I had a physio appointment this morning, and we got onto this exact topic. Thank you, Nathan, for the wise words.

The urge to switch things up before your body’s actually ready is one of the biggest things holding people back in the gym. Your body needs repetition to adapt. That takes time. Stick with it.

And a big thank you to Steve for letting me share his check-in. Proof that sticking with it pays off.

Tired of constantly trying new things and wondering why that shoulder still hurts?

Message me and let’s talk.

Don’t settle for average this week.

Most people are sitting more, moving less, and putting their strength on the back burner. You don’t have to be one of them. Start small, stay consistent, and keep showing up for yourself, even on the days it feels hard.

This isn’t about perfection, it’s about building a body that carries you through life feeling strong, capable, and confident.
