🏑 HCC MEN’S MASTERS WORLD CUP UPDATE 🌏🇦🇺

Dave Dart has had a great start to his first World Cup with the Australian 55s team in Belgium! 🇦🇺💚💛

The boys opened their campaign against Singapore 🇸🇬 with a solid 5–0 victory, with Dave getting the scoring underway and grabbing 2 goals! 🔥👏

The following day they faced a strong Germany 🇩🇪 outfit. The boys battled hard and gave it everything, but unfortunately went down 2–0.

Up next is Canada 🇨🇦 today, followed by Italy 🇮🇹. A couple of big games ahead, with a win putting the boys into the semi-finals! 💪🏑

Good luck Dave and the Aussie 55s for your next two games. We’ll be watching closely and looking forward to seeing the results come through!

HCC Men’s Masters Hockey – World Cup Medal Day Update 🏑🥇🥈🥉

It’s a special day over in the Netherlands, with our mighty Sandpipers bringing home medals after a fantastic World Cup campaign. It has been a hugely successful tournament for our HCC representatives, and we couldn’t be prouder.

🥇 Lee Brady – Over 45s Gold Medal

What a comeback for the ages against Ireland! Australia found themselves trailing 2-0 heading into the final quarter and looked to be up against it. Lee Brady sparked the comeback with Australia’s first goal to make it 2-1, before the Aussies piled on the pressure. A dramatic winner in the 59th minute sealed an incredible 3-2 victory and the World Cup Gold Medal. Congratulations, Lee!

🥉 Adam Ellison – Over 50s Bronze Medal

Adam’s Over 50s side were determined not to leave the tournament empty-handed against Germany. Unfortunately, Adam was carrying an injury and, along with a couple of teammates, was unable to take the field for the bronze medal match.

Ads, we are incredibly proud of your efforts throughout the tournament and wish you a speedy recovery. The boys produced a terrific 2-0 win over Germany to claim the Bronze Medal. Congratulations to the entire squad!

🥇 Trent Evans – Over 45 IMC Gold Medal

Trent saved his best until last in the gold medal match against England B, smashing home Australia’s opening goal. The boys raced to a 2-0 lead and held on brilliantly to become World Cup Gold Medallists. Outstanding effort, Trent!

🥈 Jono Williams – Over 50 IMC Silver Medal

Jono’s Over 50 IMC side also faced England B in their gold medal match. After a hard-fought contest, the boys narrowly went down 3-2 to finish with the Silver Medal. A fantastic tournament and an achievement to be incredibly proud of. Well done, Jono!

Congratulations to all of our HCC Sandpipers on an outstanding World Cup. Representing Australia on the world stage is a remarkable achievement, and you’ve all done yourselves, your families, your teammates and Hockey Coffs Coast proud.

🏑 HCC Men’s Masters World Cup – Finals Day 🏑

Best of luck to all of our Sandpipers who have made HCC Masters Hockey incredibly proud with their performances over the past week at the World Cup.

🥇 Lee Brady (Over 45s ) produced a sensational 3–2 victory over the mighty Netherlands to book a place in the Gold Medal Match, where Australia will take on Ireland.

🥉 Adam Ellison (Over 50s) was unlucky to go down 1–0 to the Netherlands after conceding an early first-quarter goal. Adam and his team will now face Germany in the Bronze Medal Match.

🏅 Best wishes also to Jono Williams and the Over 50s IMC team as they contest their Gold Medal Match, and to Trent Evans and the Over 45s IMC team as they also chase World Cup gold.

Bring home some medals, boys! 🇦🇺💚💛

HCC Men’s Masters World Cup – Quarter Final Update

Another huge day for our HCC Sandpipers, with two teams booking their place in the World Cup semi-finals!

Adam Ellison – Over 50s

Adam Ellison’s Over 50s side were first up against New Zealand in a tough quarter-final. The match was tightly contested, with Australia holding a narrow 1-0 lead heading into the final quarter as New Zealand threw everything at them in search of an equaliser.

Then it was HCC Sandpiper Adam Ellison who stepped up. Showing great positioning and skill, Adam finished off a well-worked attacking move to make it 2-0. Moments later, with New Zealand having pulled their goalkeeper, Adam found himself in the right place again, calmly smashing home his second goal to seal a 3-0 victory and send Australia through to the semi-finals.

The Aussies now face host nation Netherlands 🇳🇱 in what promises to be a packed house.

Lee Brady – Over 45s

Next up was Lee Brady’s Over 45s side taking on South Africa in a blockbuster quarter-final.

The match had everything you would expect – physical, fast, skilful and entertaining from start to finish. South Africa struck first with a penalty corner conversion to lead 1-0, but Australia responded almost immediately to level the scores.

The Aussies then converted a penalty stroke to take the lead before Lee Brady produced a trademark never-say-die run along the baseline, setting up an open teammate for Australia’s third goal and a 3-1 advantage.

South Africa fought back to close the margin to 3-2, but the Australians stood firm to secure a well-deserved victory and a place in the semi-finals.

They too will now take on the host nation Netherlands 🇳🇱 in what is sure to be another electric atmosphere.

HCC Men’s Masters World Cup Update

As the final pool matches wrapped up overnight, there were some huge results for our mighty Sandpipers as they continue their impressive World Cup campaigns.

🏑 Adam Ellison – Over 50s
Needing a win over Belgium to secure a more favourable path through the finals and finish in the top four, Adam and the Australian side delivered with a superb 2–0 victory. They now move on to a quarter-final showdown against our neighbours, New Zealand, tomorrow.

🏑 Jono Williams – Over 50s IMC
Jono’s side produced a dominant performance, demolishing Scotland 12–0 in their quarter-final. They now advance to the semi-finals, where they’ll take on Zimbabwe. 🇿🇼

🏑 Lee Brady – Over 45s
Lee’s team faced France in a must-win final pool match to secure second place and progress to the quarter-finals. It was an outstanding contest, with both teams playing exciting, high-quality hockey. Australia came away with a well-earned 4–2 victory, with Lee once again finding the back of the net. They now face a tough quarter-final against South Africa. 🇿🇦

🏑 Trent Evans – Over 45s IMC
Trent’s team continued their unbeaten run through the tournament, defeating Belgium B 2–0 to book their place in the semi-finals, where they will take on Alliance.

HCC Men’s Masters World Cup – Day 2 Update

A fantastic start to the 2026 Masters World Cup, with our Hockey Coffs Coast Sandpipers proudly representing Australia on the world stage.

🏑 Adam Ellison (Over 50s) continued his campaign with a convincing 6–1 victory over Hong Kong, putting in a strong all-round team performance.

🏑 Lee Brady (Over 45s) opened the tournament against a quality England side, going down 4–2, with Lee scoring Australia’s opening goal. On Day 2, the team bounced back in outstanding fashion, defeating Germany 2–0, with Lee scoring both goals in a brilliant performance.

🏑 Jono Williams (Over 50s IMC) celebrated his side’s first win of the World Cup, defeating South Africa 2–1.

🏑 Trent Evans (Over 45s IMC) suffered a narrow 2–1 loss to England in a hard-fought contest before responding superbly on Day 2 with a comfortable 4–0 victory over Alliance.

Congratulations to all of our Sandpipers on representing Hockey Coffs Coast and Australia with pride.

On behalf of the HCC Men’s Masters, we would like to wish all of our Sandpipers the very best as they represent Australia at the 2026 World Masters Hockey World Cup in the Netherlands and Belgium.

🏑 Our Sandpipers representing Australia:

For those who aren’t familiar, this is a truly special World Cup, being held in the Netherlands and Belgium just weeks before the FIH Hockey World Cup at many of the same world-class venues.

Each age division features more than 15 international teams, with some divisions boasting more than 20 teams. Our Sandpipers will be taking on some of the very best masters hockey players from around the world.

We’ll keep everyone updated with results and highlights throughout the tournament.

NSW State Team Nominations for Over 34's, Over 49s and Over 64s CLOSE THIS FRIDAY 8th May.

Hockey Coffs Coast has been very successful in having Men's Masters players selected in NSW representative teams. Players selected in State teams this year will compete in the Australian Men's Masters Hockey Championships to be held on the Gold Coast from:

Friday 25th September to Saturday 4th October
(34+ to 50+ Age Divisions) and
Friday 30th September to Saturday 10th October
(55+ to 80+ Age Divisions).

Nominations for NSW State Team selections are now open at https://www.hockeynsw.com.au/events/322793.

NSW player nominations can ONLY be made online.
You may nominate as a Masters-Only player but, if selected for NSW, you must upgrade to full membership within 21 days.
Important: nominations are due at midnight on the Friday prior to each state championship.

Nomination closing dates are:
8th May: Over 34's, Over 49's and Over 64s
19th June: Over 39s, Over 54s, Over 69s, Over 74's Over 79s.
