🔴🟡 ROUND 7 RESULTS 🟡🔴

A tough day of footy across all grades, with every game being fiercely contested from start to finish.

Our Women’s Tackle side went right down to the wire against the Rebels, eventually falling just short 22-16 after a tremendous effort. The girls showed plenty of grit and determination and were in the contest until the final whistle.

Reserve Grade were heartbreakingly close, going down by a single point in one of the most hard-fought games of the season. Despite the 23-22 result, the side showed great character and never stopped fighting.

First Grade continued their strong form with an impressive 24-16 victory. The boys stood up against a Rebels side that desperately wanted the win and matched them physically for the full 80 minutes. It was a composed and determined performance that earned a well-deserved two competition points.

FULL TIME | COMETS v NAMBUCCA ROOSTERS 🔴🟡

A mixed bag of results today, but plenty to be proud of right across the club.

Under 18’s produced one of the comebacks of the season, trailing 22-0 at half time before showing incredible character, resilience and belief to storm home and claim a thrilling 28-26 victory. A fantastic effort from the boys who never gave up and were rewarded for their determination.

Women’s Tackle went down 38-4, but the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story. The ladies continue to work hard for one another, improve each week and build strong combinations. The growth and commitment shown by this group continues to make the club proud.

Reserve Grade recorded another strong and gritty win, defeating Nambucca 30-18. It was a tough contest throughout, but the boys dug deep when it mattered and came away with a well-earned victory.

First Grade suffered a narrow 34-30 loss in a hard-fought battle that could have gone either way. It was an intense contest from start to finish, with the boys showing plenty of fight and never taking a backward step. Unfortunately, a few moments proved the difference in the end.

The Comets are back at Geoff King Motors Oval this Sunday as we take on the Nambucca Roosters across all four grades.

🕚 Under 18’s – 11:00am
🕧 Women’s Tackle – 12:15pm
🕜 Reserve Grade – 1:30pm
🕝 First Grade – 2:45pm

Our teams are building some great momentum and we’d love to see the grounds full of Comets supporters backing our teams as they represent the red and gold.

The canteen will be open all day and the bar opens after the Under 18’s game 🍻

A strong day for the Comets today with 3 wins from 4 grades against the Grafton Ghosts. 🔴🟡

Proud of the commitment, resilience and gritty efforts shown across all teams. Every side turned up for each other and competed hard for every game. The results are a reflection of the work being done week after week right across the club, and we can all see these groups continuing to build.

Congratulations to all players, coaches, staff and a huge thank you to our supporters that made the trip today.

Massive day of rugby league across the club on Saturday, with our juniors rolling through the morning before our senior grades took the field for Ladies Day 🔴🟡

While the results didn’t fully reflect the effort shown on the field, there was no shortage of heart, resilience and commitment across all grades.

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who gave up their time throughout the day and to everyone who came out to support our players and club. Your support never goes unnoticed ❤️💛

We take on the Sawtell Panthers in all grades, and it’s shaping up as a great day across the club.

It’s also Ladies Day, where we celebrate all the amazing women involved in our club and community 💛❤️

And with it being Mother’s Day weekend, we want to give a massive shoutout to all the mums and footy mums — thank you for everything you do week in, week out 👏
