NEVER THROWN A PUNCH BEFORE?

Perfect.

One of the biggest misconceptions about boxing fitness is that you need to know what you're doing before you walk through the door.

You don't.

In fact, most of the people who now look completely comfortable in our boxing classes started exactly the same way: nervous, unsure and convinced everyone else would know more than they did.

The truth is that nobody arrives knowing how to box.

Everyone starts somewhere.

Our job as coaches is to teach. Your job is simply to show up.

The best time to start isn't when you're fitter, stronger, lighter or more confident.

It's now.

"I've tried everything."

It's one of the most common phrases I hear during consultations.

And most of the time, it's true.

People have tried gyms.

They've tried diets.

They've tried challenges.

They've tried walking programs, running programs and meal plans.

They've genuinely put in effort.

The problem is that trying lots of things and doing one thing consistently for a long time are not the same thing.

Most people have tried meal preparation.

Far fewer have meal prepped every week for a year.

Most people have tried strength training.

Far fewer have trained 2-3 times per week for five years.

"I used to be fit."

I've heard that sentence hundreds of times over the years.

Usually from someone in their 40s, 50s or 60s who trained consistently before work, kids, injuries or life got in the way.

The funny thing is they often say it as though they're talking about somebody who no longer exists.

As though the fit version of themselves disappeared years ago and can never come back.

But that's rarely true.

The more I coach, the more convinced I become that most people don't walk into a gym carrying a training problem.

They're carrying a story.

A story about who they are.

What they're capable of.

And why they can—or can't—succeed.
