Just completed an awesome USA Hockey training module focused on the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA) and the ecological framework! It was an incredible deep dive into developing power plays through small-sided games, patterns, and decision-making scenarios. I loved how the session emphasized adaptability, player creativity, and game-like situations, which are so critical for building effective special teams.

The practical insights on how to design tasks that challenge athletes to think and react under pressure were super valuable. The mix of theory and hands-on applications made it clear how to connect practice directly to game performance. It’s always inspiring to see new ways of empowering players to develop their hockey IQ organically through these frameworks.

Looking forward to implementing some of these strategies with my teams and watching the athletes thrive in dynamic, real-world situations. Highly recommend this module to any coach wanting to elevate their power play!

The Factory will closed this week for training as our head coach is over at CIA with the Hawks Ice Hockey Club assisting with the Junior try-outs and team selections.
