THE OUTFIELD COACHING CLINIC (WHITEBOARD EDITION)

Our coaches have distilled the entire art of outfield play into four simple rules.

Rule 1: Hit your cuts.
Rules 2, 3 and 4: See Rule 1.

Honestly? We've seen worse game plans.
So tell us - how's your Rule 1 going this season?

A) Textbook. Cutoff man gets it every time, don't @ me
B) I know where the cutoff man is. In theory.
C) I am the cutoff man and I have never been more alone
D) I play infield and I feel personally attacked by this post
E) I'm a pitcher, the outfield is just a rumour to me
F) Something else (be honest, this is a safe space. Mostly.)

Bonus points if you can tell us the worst cutoff throw you've ever been involved in giving or receiving. Details required. Dramatics encouraged.

🌧️ Well, Melbourne did what Melbourne does.

Four washouts meant a short weekend for most of our teams, and it was a tough day for those who did take the field - with one bright spot. B Res, we see you. 💪

Round results are in! 🔴⚾
Big day against Monash — B Res, B3, and B4 all got the job done, with B4 putting up a massive 15–2 (or 13-0 depending on who is telling the story).

Two heartbreakers in the juniors with U15 and U13 Minor both going down by a single run. Plenty to build on heading into next week.

It's with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news that Teresa Cavaliere-Doria passed away on Sunday.

Wife of Nick and mother of Aiden, both of whom spent many years wearing the maroon and gold of the Rebels, she was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

We offer our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Vale Teresa, you will be missed by anyone fortunate to have spent any time in your orbit.

POST-GAME DEBRIEF (RESULTS MAY VARY EDITION)

Another weekend of Rebels baseball is in the books.

Some of us won. Some of us... gained character.
So let's hear it:

A) We smashed it, put it on the scoreboard and don't @ me
B) We lost but the post-game snacks were elite, so really, who's the real winner
C) I spent more time trying to feel my fingers than fielding the ball
D) I was busy holding down the canteen and have no idea what happened on field
E) I have no idea what happened, I was on scoring duty and just vibing
F) Something else (we want details, especially if they're embarrassing for someone else)

EOFY EDITION: DO A GOOD THING, GET A TAX RECEIPT!

Yes, it's that time of year again, when accountants everywhere start whispering "got any deductions?" and admin starts whispering back "have we got an offer for you."

The Rebels Community Support Fund (via the Australian Sports Foundation) helps our own players and families who are doing it tough with the cost of rego, gear and just... life. Because at the Rebels, we look after our own.

Every donation over $2 is tax-deductible, goes straight to supporting our community, and comes with a guilt-free side of warm fuzzies, which, let's be honest, is more than your accountant usually gives you.




PS: Admin cannot help you with your actual tax return, but can absolutely help you feel better about doing it.

Also, you can set up a monthly donation rather than a lump sum, we have one person doing that, so thank you whoever you are!

Cost of living pressures continue to rise and are affecting households across our community. At the Rebels, we look after our own, and every contribution helps
