Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2025–26 AFWHS Annual General Meeting tonight. We are pleased to introduce the 2026–27 AFWHS Committee:

A special thank you to Nelly Jaehne for her leadership as Chairperson over the past year. We are delighted that Nelly will continue to support the Society as Deputy Chairperson.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Alla Keogh for her contribution as Victorian Representative over the past 12 months. Your commitment and support of our members has been greatly appreciated. :-)

As a volunteer-run organisation, AFWHS relies on the passion and dedication of committee members who generously give their time to support our breed and our members. Thank you to everyone who has stepped forward.

A Special Resolution was also passed to allow electronic voting and resolutions, an important step in modernising the way the Society operates and engages with members across Australia.

The Society remains in a strong financial position, and we look forward to building on this foundation over the coming year. Our new Committee will hold its first meeting in the coming weeks as we begin planning for 2026–27.

We are currently exploring further digital improvements, including upgrading the AFWHS website to improve communication and information sharing. We are also keen to hear from members and encourage you to share your ideas, feedback and suggestions through your State Representatives.

One of our key priorities for the coming year is creating more opportunities for members to connect and engage within their states - whether you are a breeder, owner, competitor, recreational rider, or simply enjoy being part of the Friesian Warmblood community.

We look forward to an exciting and productive year ahead.

Our upcoming Annual General Meeting for the Australian Friesian Warmblood Horse Society is scheduled for the 18th June 2026, Via Teams Meeting Platform at 7PM EST.

We still have 3 committee positions available; Tasmanian State Rep, West Australian & Victorian State Rep along with our 7th Committee member, during the meeting nominations will be called for these positions from those attending. If you are interested in offering some of your time to help continue to build our society, we would love to hear from you!!

All financial members have been sent the final details for the AGM along with the Teams Meeting information. If you did not receive the email, please let us know!

We look forward to catching up with many of our members at the AGM.

NOTICE - AFWHS Inc 2026 AGM
Date: Thursday, 18 June 2026
Time: 7:00pm EST
Location: Online (meeting link to be distributed prior to the meeting)

The AGM provides members with the opportunity to:
review the annual financial position of the Society;
ratify committee appointments and elections;
consider constitutional amendments and special resolutions; and
participate in the governance and future direction of AFWHS.

A Special Resolution relating to constitutional amendments to permit electronic voting and electronic ballot papers will also be considered at the meeting. Members are encouraged to review the explanatory notes included within the AGM Pack prior to the meeting.

The following positions remain vacant and may be filled by nomination from the floor at the AGM:

VIC State Representative
WA State Representative
7th Committee Member

Members are reminded that only current financial members are eligible to vote at the AGM.
Meeting access details and online participation instructions will be distributed closer to the AGM date.
