Less than four weeks to go until the Coochie Classic! 🌊
We’re excited to welcome everyone to the Coochie Classic on Sunday, 4 October 2026 — now featuring surf ski paddlers 🛶 and wingfoilers alongside catamarans, dinghies, windsurfers and off‑the‑beach classes.
This relaxed, scenic social event includes a beautiful run to Coochiemudlo Island, flatter bay waters, and a sausage sizzle + social gathering at the finish.
Sailors and paddlers are encouraged to bring a hand‑held VHF (Channel 11) but this is optional as our safety boats will be onsite to assist as always.

⛵ First Race of the Season – This Sunday! (13/9)
We’re kicking off the new season with racing around the cans for the Dr Foxton Memorial Series. It doesn’t matter what skill level you’re at — whether you’re racing for sheep stations or still finding your groove around the course, everyone is welcome.

🌴 Sunday 20/9 – First Destination Sail
Weather permitting, we’ll throw the BBQ on the safety boats and head over to one of the island beaches for a relaxed day on the bay.
If you’d like to put family or friends on a safety boat for the trip, please let us know so we can plan numbers, they will be roped into helping prep the boats ;) .

If you're planning on attending, let us know, it makes planning the days a little easier.

Working Bee this Saturday (29/8)!
We’ve got a busy season ahead and the club needs a bit of TLC. If you can spare even an hour, we’d love your help to get everything shipshape.

🕘 Saturday from 9AM (aiming to finish by 1PM)
🧤 Bring work gloves — and a weeder if you have one!

Jobs include:
• Clubhouse cleaning (floors, tables, chairs, kitchen, bathrooms)
• Mowing, whipper‑snipping, weeding, ramp tidy‑up
• Safety boat checks, buoy and tackle inspections

Every bit of help makes a huge difference, and it’s a great chance to catch up off the water.
If you can come, please let us know so we can plan the day.

Season highlights (aka: keeping the ship sailing straight):

Summer Calendar is live — let us know any dates you can’t help with Race Management, or dates you’d prefer to jump in.

New start times (trial): Training at 8:30 AM, Racing not before 11:30 AM. Earlier starts = more sailing, less drifting (no promises).

We’re volunteer‑run — Race Management doesn’t magically appear; it’s powered by you legends.

Trainers & assistants wanted — Mono and Cat. If you can coach, encourage, or at least point confidently at a boat, we’d love to hear from you.

General volunteers welcome — great day on the bay, free lunch, and best seats in the house.

• 29 August — Club Working Bee
• 13 September — Opening Day of the Summer Sailing Season
• 4 October — Coochie Invitational
• 13 December — Christmas Get‑Together

Thanks to everyone who keeps the club afloat — your involvement is what makes C*C run smoothly. If you can lend a hand this season, we’d really appreciate it.

This Sunday, 16th August — the grand finale of the Winter Series!
One last cool‑weather lap before we start getting excited for the Summer Series… where we finally get back to doing what we do best: going sailing again.

We’re also on the lookout for Race Management volunteers. If you — or someone you know — can lend a hand, we’d love to have you involved. Winter’s been a blast, but it’s the Race Management crew who keep the whole show running smoothly.

So come down, enjoy the last day of the Winter Series, and if you’re not sailing, hang around afterwards and jump in with the team. Best seat in the house, zero chance of capsizing*.

After the last round of the Winter Season racing was blown out, I am sure there are a lot of us itching to get back on the water tomorrow, but don't forget the AGM from 9:00.

The forecast for Sunday is looking great for sailing with around 10 knots SE, with the possibility of a few light showers to keep it interesting. Racing to start not before 11:00.
