Interclub Results & Words from Coach Melanie:
We had 38 of our young trampoline athletes compete at the second Interclub competition of the year, and it was fantastic to see their hard work and dedication on display.
After plenty of persistence and determination, Claire Roberts earned her first gold medal in Level 5 Trampoline. Another dedicated athlete, Izzak Stimson, had an outstanding competition, taking out both Level 6 Trampoline and the Level 6 All Rounder award.
Several athletes were competing in their very first trampoline competition, and what a debut it was! Sunny Magill, William Norris, Leo Barkley, Ash Bell, and Skylah Farr all came away with gold medals. A wonderful start to their competition journeys.
Tegan Perovic showed incredible resilience when she discovered on the day that she had been entered into a higher level than the one she had been training for. Rather than letting it faze her, she stepped up, gave it her all, and competed with a fantastic attitude. We are very proud of the way she handled the challenge, and that determination will undoubtedly serve her well in the future.
A big thank you to our judges and coaches Hudson Brown, Ella Brushe, Levi Coutts-Hohenhaus, Jo Van Dam, Joe Finley, Ana Sofronie, Anna Platt & Melanie Tonks for generously giving their time and expertise throughout the weekend. Our athletes couldn't do it without your support.
Our next major event is the Australian Gymnastics Championships, which will be held in Sydney during the July school holidays. We are excited to have 20 trampoline athletes representing Redland City Gymsports as part of Team Queensland on the national stage, and we wish them all the very best.
