Clermont SSAA branch will be holding a fi****ms safety course on Saturday 27 th of June 2026 For A/B & H
The course cost is Non Member A/B $131.00 . Non Member H $ 131.00 and Non Member A/B&H $211.00.
SSAA Member A/B $ 91.00. Member H $91.00 and Member for A/B&H $151.00. Junior will cost A/B $47.00 and Junior A/B &H $58.00.
Course cost includes lunch, smoko's, tea coffee and 1 soft drink or bottled water. Course numbers will be limited to 20. To have your spot reserved you will need to message Christine on 0429833052 to book in and then you will have to pay the full amount into the bank account below.
You will need to be at the SSAA Range 15072 Gregory Highway Clermont by 0730 for a 0800 start. Bring with you photo ID, closed in shoes, a USI number and can you please bring a Laptop computer if you have one. Also your membership card for SSAA.
SSAA Clermont account BSB Number: 034 181 Account Number : 324 885. Can you use your name as Reference. Also ensure that you bring your USI with you as the course results are not able to be sent out if any person does not supply a USI number .

So today we had our working bee and what a great success, the work we got done today would normally take Lloyd Dennis and myself about 6 months to get done. Many thanks to the members that came and helped and I’ll list as I go through the work we completed. Firstly we put in the gate at the back of the range so we can maintain the area at the back of the range with the tractor, we also put in additional drainage with some pipes kindly donated by Clermont Coal. All this was achieved with Tom on the welder and Matt helping. Jamal kindly donated his time and his little digger who did an amazing job boring holes for the gate cutting an access road to the top of the mound so we can access with the tractor so we can dress it in the future. Jamal also used his little digger to help install pipe work behind the mound to improve drainage. Matt and Tom sorted Lloyds and mine shoddy fencing, Matt became very familiar with the zero turn mowing a lot of ranges and the camping area,he also was a better fire watch than I was for Tom ( I dropped the ball there ) Tom fine tuned Lloyds welder and welded on tabs for the turning target range so we can eventually soften the the target frames by securing the wood to those tabs. All in all an amazing day and many thanks to Jamal Tom and Matt to helped it was really appreciated.

Given we don't get lots of rain, currently forcast at less than 4mm per day but forcasts are not reliable, we are going to have a working bee this weekend. We were supposed to hold the State Gallery rifle championships, but travel costs have caused a postponement. We are wanting to build an access out to the paddock behind us. This involves installing a road around the mound and accross a small causeway. We are also need to install a gateway with a couple of strainers. We want to build a road onto the back mound for maintenance as well as some painting, and various other tasks. If you have a few hours spare feel free to drop out and give us a hand.

These are the calendar shoots held monthly. There are other times that range officers are available should you want to have an afternoon of load development or need assistance. Please contact the page if you wish to utilise the facilities at other times. If possible, we will assist.

Rifle- Gallery rifle 1020 match

3rd weekend Pistol- CSD 25m rapid fire class 1,2,3
Rifle- Metallic silhouette rimfire field positions

4th weekend Gallery Rifle Nationals Tasmania

March

2nd weekend Pistol- CSD pistol Postal matches
Rifle- 3 P core standard rifle and Acc/optic.

3rd weekend Pistol- CSD 3 P core class 1,2,3 and 4
Rifle- Rimfire benchrest

April

2nd weekend Pistol- CSD practice
Rifle- Training rifle 310 cadet postal.

3rd weekend State Gallery Rifle Championships at Clermont.
This will potentially close the range for the weekend.

May

1st weekend State CSD titles at SSAA Eidsvold

2nd weekend Sarina 2-day shoot for the Anzac trophy.
Open day for testing depending on Range Officer availability

3rd weekend Pistol- CSD Match 4 standing deliberate 15m
Rifle- CSD Match 36 3 range event for training rifle

June

2nd weekend Pistol- Rimfire Metallic Silhouette
Rifle- Hunter rifle match.

3rd weekend Pistol- CSD combined pistol rifle rim fire at 25 m
Rifle- Lever action rifle (animal targets) rimfire or centre fire out to 100 m

State, National championships and inter club shoots listed above indicate that branch shooters travel to these events. This combined with shift work commitments may leave the club understaffed with range officers on these weekends. We will try to notify shooters via our page if this results in a closure.

Good evening all. Given that the weather holds up and we can get there, we will be opening the range on Sunday for the day. Let's say 0930 to 1600. The range will close if no-one arrives by 1030 or 1/2 an hour after the last shooter leaves. There are charges to use the range so bring along some cash. Any of our friends from the Clermont QRA are welcome if you need to work up some loads or sight a rifle. Unfortunatelty we are limited to 100m still. Range 5 and range 2 will be open allowing centrefire rifle and rimfire rifle and pistol.
