Clements Gap Football Club This Page is dedicated to the Clements Gap Football Club, formed in 1914, placed into recess in 1940. The team was undefeated premiers in 1920,21, and 22.

The Clements Gap Football Club was formed in 1914, joining the Broughton central Football association. In 1923 Clements Gap joined Western Areas, playing against Bute, Port Broughton, Wokurna and Mundoora, In 1925 Clements Gap defeated Bute 10 goal 4, to 4 goal 7. From 1929 to 1931 Clements gap rejoined the Broughton Central Football Association and played against Narridy, Merriton, Wanderah, and

Crystal Brooks “Bs”. The club reformed in 1936 and again joined the Broughton Central Football Association until 1940, where after playing the first round of matches, the team was put into recess with many young men in the area enlisting to fight in world war two. Clements Gap colours were red and white from 1914 to 1923, and then green and white from 1927 through to 1940. This page has been formed to keep the history of the CGFC alive and to promote events held at the Clements Gap football oval to fundraise for the Clements Gap Soliders Memorial Uniting Church and grounds. In 2015 the Clements Gap community is holding a gathering at the Cements gap oval to commemorate 90 years since the Gaps last grand final win. To celebrate the occasion, replica Clements Gap Guernsey’s are being made which can be ordered through this page.

Hello everyone, the Clements Gap Guernseys have arrived this week,and they look great!

As you know we are holding an event at the Clements Gap oval sunday the 16th of august, depending on numbers we are hoping to hold a scratch match on the oval opposite the church grounds.

A special church service is being held at 1030am, with lunch afterwards, We will head to the oval after lunch. Depending on the numbers, we hope to have a kids game, girls game, and mens game, and other novelty events during the day.

We will have all the guernseys at the oval on sunday, so anyone who wants to pick them up or wear theirs on the day please bring along some cash.

10 extra guernseys of mixed sizes were ordered, so anyone that missed out can purchase one on the day, we will also be taking orders for the next batch of guernseys.

Remember the guernseys were $50 each, If you wanted shorts they are $30, and a matching pair of socks is $15.

Also green Clements Gap hats have been ordered and are available on the day.

BBQ and drinks will be available at the oval.

If you are unable to make it sunday, we will arrange another time for you to pick up your merchandise.

Please remember this is a fundraiser for the Clements Gap community so if you get a chance to come down it would be great to see you there!

TIME TO ORDER A GUERNSEY!

in order to have some guernseys ready by mid august we need to place orders within the next few days, preferably tomorrow tuesday 14th july.

THE PRICE OF EACH GUERNSEY IS $50

Payment will be required on collection of guernseys, cash preferable.

The guernseys range is S,M,L,XL,XXL,###L,###XL,###XXL.

The sizes of the guernseys are a little small, I usually wear a Large, but will be ordering an XL, so perhaps go one size above your usual?

on the first round of guernseys we will not be doing any custom text, but you can pick any number you like for the back.

If you wish to have one of the first replica guernseys please send this page a message detailing your name, phone number, Guernsey Size, and Player number you want on the back.

GUERNSEY UPDATE

After a meeting at the clements gap church, we have decided that the colour of the guernseys will be the middle green. The text on the front breast will be changed from "CGFC" to "CLEMENTS GAP" The text back above the number will remain the same, but the text below the number will be changed to "UNDEFEATED 1920,21,22" "PREMIERS 1925"

unfortunately we cannot find an original green and white guernsey to compare colours with, and have only one photo to guess from (profile picture) That photo shows that the colour was actually quite light in colour. We believe that the port football club in port pirie had a similar colour in the early days, so yesterday we took photos of an old guernsey they have on display.
