Claremont Bowls Club was established in 1959 when Cadbury Chocolate factory offered land for a bowls club and asked their managers to assist. It now has two very good grass greens, pennant teams in Saturdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and barefoot bowls

BTS PRESENTATION NIGHT 8 MAY 2023 at ROSNY PARK BOWLS CLUB
Numbers were a bit down on other years with several clubs not represented. From Claremont present were Di & Shane Peck, Kevin Mann, Joy & Adam Voss, Norm Goodwin, Jess, Sebastian, Xavia & Jaylah Triffett (all the way from Launceston) & Mike Quinn.
Claremont was presented with a number of awards & thankfully there were enough from the above to accept the trophies.
Sebastian, Xavia & Jaylah Triffett won awards in the junior division. Kevin Mann and Norm Goodwin collected the trophy for Division 3 Midweek. Sebastian, Jaylah, and Norm collected the trophy for Division 5 Saturday.
Joy Voss and Di Peck won the Woman’s Open Pairs whilst Joy won the Open Singles and was adjudged the Bowler of the year (Women’s) in the BTS.
Kevin Mann was part of the over 60’s fours winning combination.

Another Grand Final win! This time to Div 3 Midweek. Claremont 61 defeated Glenorchy Rodman 46. Excellent effort by the team & thanks to all our loyal supporters.

GF Div 5: Claremont 75 defeated Glenorchy City 57
At Rosny Park the day was overcast with little wind and only a few drops of rain.
Our Div 5 had led the field in the roster games and now it was time to show its metal.
The game started off with two Claremont rinks finding
it hard to get going.

However, John Howard’s rink got off to a flyer and never gave an inch for the rest of the match winning by 16 shots.

Peter Trikilis’s rink got stuck on 4 shots for an eternity and as the game reached the back half it did not look good. Suddenly they found their mojo and scored a six, and then made up the lee way and in fact hit the front at one stage. A deficit of only 3 shots at the end was a good return.

On the other rink Ron Coleman was slow out of the blocks and then showed some excellent bowling to pull away for a well earned 7 shot win.

The supporters were magnificent and gave the team a great lift with their presence.
The team has been invited to go to Burnie this weekend for the State titles.

The team members were: - Karl Renetzeder, Gary Smith, Michael Pursell, Peter Trikilis (s), Sebastian Triffett, David Shaddock, Kerry Carter, Ron Coleman (s), Jaylah & David Triffett, Norm Goodwin & John Howard (s).

At Claremont Bowls & Community Club we have just received our new jackets, which will be on show at the Grand finals on Saturday 15/4/23 at Rosny Park (Div 5) and on Wednesday 19/4/23 at North Hobart (Midweek Div 3) and Buckingham (Midweek Div 4). Good luck to our three sides.

EASTER MONDAY FUN FOURS SPONSORED BY GLEN EDWARDS EXCAVATORS ON 10/4/2023.

It may have got down to 10 degrees, but the bowling was hot stuff.
Thanks to the organisers, the bar persons, Winston on the BBQ, the servers in the pantry also all bowlers, Bill, Rob & donations to the raffle– Woolworths, Hon Elise Archer MP & Platform One. Raffle
winners were John Howard, Warren, Pam, Wendy & Anon.
The winning rink was Kevin Raby, John Davis, Kathleen Pfund & Max Barry (s).
2nd were Tony Davie (s), Scott Davie, Anthony Clifford & Luke Turner.
And third were Meekie Salter (s), Julie White, Norm Goodwin & Christine Andrews.

If you are not playing on Monday 10 April at Claremont Bowls & Community Club in the Easter Monday Fun Fours, then come along and barrack for your favorite bowler/s. Action on the greens from about 10.00 am till about 3.00 pm. No admission fee, bar is open, and we would love to see you. Rowdy, but friendly barracking will be quite acceptable!!
