Congratulations to Year 9 student-athlete Harry Dewsbery, who will be representing Gymnastics Tasmania at the upcoming Australian Gymnastics Championships in Sydney. Harry will compete in Synchronised Trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline events. For those who may not be familiar with these disciplines, here’s a brief overview:

Synchronised Trampoline is an exciting gymnastics event where two competitors perform identical routines on side-by-side trampolines in perfect unison. Gymnasts are evaluated based on their ex*****on, the difficulty of their skills, and how well their timing and form match each other.

Double Mini Trampoline, often referred to as DMT, is another thrilling gymnastics discipline that combines a sprint down a runway with a jump onto a smaller, highly springy trampoline. Gymnasts perform two acrobatic flips before landing precisely on a mat.

Wishing you all the best, Harry! Your hard work and determination have truly paid off. Enjoy the experience of representing your state with pride.

Rugby Australia is excited to be bringing the Heart of Regional Rugby Tour to Hobart on Friday 19 June.

The Heart of Regional Rugby Tour is designed to connect regional communities with the game of rugby through fun, engaging and inclusive rugby activities. The tour provides young participants with the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, make new friends and interact with some of Australia's rugby greats.

We are thrilled to be joined by:

β€’ Morgan Turinui – a former Wallaby centre who represented Australia in 20 Test matches, including appearances at the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups.

β€’ Hilisha Samoa – a former Wallaroo who represented Australia in 8 Test matches and has been a passionate advocate for women's rugby and community participation programs across the country.

The clinic will be delivered by experienced Rugby Australia and Tasmania Rugby staff, alongside Morgan and Hilisha, ensuring participants receive a fun, engaging and high-quality rugby experience.

As expected, SATIS has confirmed that the whole round of Year 7/8 and 2nd Grade Football (AFL) has been cancelled today due to all school and council-owned grounds being closed.

We are currently working with SATIS to find a way to add this round onto the back end of the roster to ensure our boys still get the same amount of games played.

This cancellation affects our 2 x Year 8 Div 1 (Blue, Gold), 2 x Year 7 Div 2 (Green, White) and our 2nd Grade teams.

Students should proceed home as per normal means. Any issues, students should see Student Services.

RUGBY Cancelled.

We have just been informed that the University grounds will be closed for the rest of this week, so there will be no rugby tomorrow night. Additionally, with the upcoming long weekend, there will be no rugby for the next two Fridays.

The next SATIS Rugby Competition night will now take place on Friday, June 12th. The TRU is hoping for a strong turnout and looks forward to getting the games underway.

Thank you for your support, and I hope everyone will be able to participate in a few weeks.

27/05/2026

2nd Grade football at Bell Street this afternoon against Friends has been cancelled due to ground closure. Students should proceed home as usual. If there are any issues, please see Student Services.

26/05/2026

Please be advised that due to the track and oval at Soldiers Memorial being completely underwater, SATIS has made the decision this morning to cancel today's Southern SATIS Cross Country Carnival.

Students should proceed to school as normal for scheduled classes. For those heading directly to Soldiers Memorial and without transport to Austins Ferry, the College will arrange for a bus to pick you up. Please wait near the change rooms with Mr Briggs.
