Metro Football Club We are a Football Club based in the Northern Suburbs of Hobart established in 1941. Our teams range from under 5s through to Southern Social League 1.

The Club offers FOOTBALL from under 6's to adults (Southern Championship 1 Seniors, Social Men & Women and over 35s. We also have 8 Ball & Dart Teams.

What an incredible night at the Metro FC Hobby Horse Race Night on Saturday. The energy, the laughs, the chaos — you all made it unforgettable.
A massive thank you to everyone who came along, cheered, raced, volunteered, or helped bring the night to life. Events like this only work because our community shows up with heart and humour every single time.

🌏⚽ WORLD CUP WATCH PARTY AT METRO FC! ⚽🌏

Metro FC is throwing open the doors bright and early this Saturday morning as the Socceroos take on the USA, with kick-off at 5:00am in Round 2 of the World Cup group stage!

Come down, cheer on Australia with fellow football supporters, and start your Saturday at the club.

☕ The coffee machine will be fired up from early morning for anyone needing a kick-start!
🥓 Egg & Bacon Muffins available following the game for just $4.50 each.
🍻 Bar service will also be available throughout the World Cup watch party.

The football action continues throughout the day with our youth teams in action:
⚽ 12:00pm
⚽ 1:30pm

🎲 Saturday night then wraps up with Race Night at Metro FC!

This event never disappoints and promises to be another fantastic social evening and an important fundraiser for the club.

🎟️ Race Night tickets are available at the door for just $10.00 per person.
🍻 Full bar service will also be available throughout the evening.

🎉 MEMBERS DRAW UPDATE

A huge congratulations to Jess Fowler, one of our youth parents and club members, who this week claimed our $300 Members Draw jackpot!

The draw now resets to $25 next Thursday night.

From a 5:00am World Cup clash through to Race Night, it’s a full day of football, food, coffee and fun at Metro FC. We look forward to seeing you there! 💙⚽

The members draw will take place at 7:00pm, with this week’s jackpot sitting at $300.

If the first number drawn is not present, we’ll draw 3 x $100 winners, and those prizes will be paid out to members present on the night.

🏇 Race Night Fundraiser – Saturday Night
Our Race Night Fundraiser returns this Saturday night at Metro FC and promises to be another fantastic evening of fun, laughs, and friendly competition.

There are still plenty of opportunities to get involved, so make sure you come along and support the club while enjoying a great night out with the Metro family.

***LOST PROPERTY***

Over the first couple of months of the season, a number of items have found their way into our lost property collection from training sessions, match days and club activities.

If you think any of these items may belong to you or your family, please take a moment to have a look and collect them from the club over the coming weeks.

We’d love to see these items returned to their owners, so please help us spread the word among teammates, friends and family members.

Any unclaimed items remaining after a reasonable period will be donated, recycled or otherwise disposed of appropriately to help keep our storage areas organised.

What a phenomenal weekend at Metro FC!

After a busy stretch, our volunteers enjoyed a well-earned rest on Friday night before another action-packed weekend of football.

Saturday morning saw our junior teams and Under 13s kick things off with some fantastic performances. A special mention goes to our Under 10 Yellow side, who secured their first win of the season after facing some tough opposition in the opening rounds. The improvement and perseverance shown by the team has been outstanding.

Our Championship 1 side also produced a brilliant performance, recording an impressive 5-0 victory over Hobart City to move into the top three on the ladder.

Sunday saw three matches at North Chigwell, with both our League 2 and League 3 sides securing their first wins of the 2026 season — a great reward for their hard work and commitment.

We then capped off the weekend with a packed clubhouse as members, players and families gathered to watch Australia record a 2-0 win in their opening World Cup group match.

It was fantastic to see everyone from our Under 5 juniors right through to our Under 15 youth players, senior players, parents and supporters coming together to support our teams and enjoy the club atmosphere. Weekends like this highlight what makes Metro FC such a special place.

A special thank you to Power Solutions Tasmania (PST) for their sponsorship of the club in 2026. This weekend saw our new ground signage utilised for the first time, making it easier for our junior teams, visiting clubs and supporters to identify grounds on game day. It’s another great example of how the support of our sponsors helps improve the experience for everyone involved at Metro FC.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who gave up their time across the weekend. Your efforts make opportunities like these possible, and we simply couldn’t do what we do without you.

We completed the draw for our World Cup Sweep tonight!

To make it easier for everyone to find their teams, the draw has been sorted into alphabetical order on each side.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and supported the club through the sweep. Your support is greatly appreciated and helps us continue to provide opportunities for our players and community.

Best of luck to everyone for the tournament – hopefully your team can go all the way! 🏆

A reminder that the first matches kick off tomorrow, and the clubrooms will be showing Sunday's games live on the TVs, including Australia's Round 1 clash from 2:00pm. 🇦🇺
