⚽️ THE END OF AN ERA — AND THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ONE 💙
2026 marks the end of an era for much of the Metro FC women’s senior program.
On behalf of the club, we want to thank each and every player who has contributed to what has been an enjoyable, successful and incredibly important women’s program over many years.
As many of our older ladies hang up the boots and bring some stellar careers to a close, we want to wish them all the very best for whatever comes next. ❤️
We hope to continue seeing many of you around the club for years to come — supporting, cheering from the sidelines and being part of the Metro family just as loudly as ever!
While losing many familiar faces is certainly a sad moment, it also presents an exciting opportunity.
💙 WE’RE LOOKING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF METRO WOMEN!
Metro FC is very much on the hunt for new and younger players who are keen to make their mark at the club, enjoy their football and be part of a great group of friends, teammates and families.
We already have a number of younger girls who are keen to continue playing women’s football in 2027, and we’d love to add some new faces to the group.
Whether you’re an experienced player or completely new to senior football, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking to build a promising women’s program for 2027 and beyond, with opportunities for players of all skill levels and experience.

👧 GIRLS FOOTBALL IS GROWING AT METRO!
We’re incredibly excited about the continued growth of our junior girls program and the opportunities that presents for the future.
For 2027, we’re looking to add some more young players to an all-girls Under 8 team.
If you have a girl born in 2017 who is keen to play alongside other girls, we’d love to hear from you!
Whether it’s her first year playing soccer or she’s already had a few seasons under her belt, everyone is welcome. ⚽️💙
We’re also extremely keen to establish a Girls Youth team in 2027.
With 9 girls currently involved across our Under 12 program, we’re hopeful we can continue that growth and provide a dedicated girls pathway into youth football.
If you have a female player born in 2013, 2014 or 2015 who would be eligible and interested in playing in a girls youth side in 2027, we’d love to hear from you!
One of the standout comments from this week was just how fantastic it was to see five girls playing in our Under 12s — and with nine girls involved across the program, we’d love to see those numbers continue to grow.
We’d also love to see more females involved across all age groups at our club.
💙 THE FUTURE IS LOOKING BRIGHT
From our youngest girls taking their first steps onto the pitch, through to our senior women, we want Metro FC to be a place where females of all ages can enjoy football, make friends and feel part of our club.
