Another great start to a rEvo Helitrox CCR course today with Noah and Neil.
After a few hours of theory last week we spent the morning building the units and then hit the pool for a few hours.

Congratulations to Noah Murphy, Neil Douglas, Leah Soo and Pauline Nuttens for completing their combined TDI Sidemount / Andanced Nitrox / Deco Procedures Course today with Ben Nuttens and myself.

We finished all off with a lovely 45mtr dive with Black Coral, a curious seal, great sponge gardens and lots of fish!

Day one of a combined TDI Sidemount, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression procedures course. I’m co-teaching this one with Eaglehawk Dive Center TDI Instructor Ben Nuttens who completed his Instructor ratings with me last year.

Fantastic weekend out of Pirates Bay with Eaglehawk Dive Center doing some technical diving. Most of us on rebreathers but Daniel was flying the flag for the trusty open circuit twin tanks as well!

Saturday we had a great dive on the Nord. Then followed that up with a dive on a new site discovering a Black Coral standing a about a meter high which is a bit remarkable being the most southern Black coral we have found and also relatively accessible only being at a depth of 46mtrs.

Sunday we had two dives on “Nemos” which never disappoints!

On the surface we had some hump back whales entertain us!

Updated - TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures Course.

Due to a cancellation, there is now a free spot on this course.

Learn to perform staged decompression dives to 45mtrs using air or limited helitrox mixtures as a bottom mix and up to 100% oxygen for accelerated decompression.

Friday evening TDI Nitrox Gas Blenders Course. Happy to run these for anyone who would like to learn how to safely handle oxygen and mix their own Nitrox.

I also offer Advanced Gas Blenders for Helium mixtures.

It's been a busy Summer. Congrats to Jennie Smith & Emlyn Jones for completing their 45mt Helitrox Deco Course, Vanessa Twelftree & Sam Scheske for completing their 30mtr Course on the rEvo rebreather. Looking forward to doing lots of dives with you!

Sam did a day trip down to Hobart today all the way from Westbury to do a try dive on the rEvo rebreather as he contemplates taking the step into CCR.

We spent a couple of hours discussing how the unit works and some of the unique features before jumping in the swimming pool with me and spending an hour diving the unit and doing some fundamental skills.

I suspect we may have another convert!
