Sydney University Hockey Club Sydney University Hockey was founded in 1907. We celebrated our Centenary in 2007, based on the first known record of the club from 1907.

Sydney University Hockey Club is at least 110 years old. It is likely that the club was formed even earlier. Even so, we are the oldest hockey club in New South Wales, one of the oldest in Australia and the only remaining club of the five clubs that fo

unded the NSW Hockey Association. Today we are one of the University's largest sporting clubs, and possibly one of the State's largest hockey clubs. We have over 50 teams playing indoor and outdoor hockey at all levels. Our teams range from our Under 9 indoor teams right through to our Premier Division Men's and Women's teams, and then on to our men's Masters teams. Our players' ages range from 6 to 56. The Club is highly competitive and our top teams in Juniors, Men's, Women's and Veterans all play at the highest possible level in Sydney's hockey competitions. They have enjoyed considerable success over the years. A number of our players are also currently playing in State and national teams. Terms of Use

After a short break, the women are back on the turf next Sunday, 28 June, ready to get stuck into the next stage of the season.

SUHC PL1 is back for the second half of 2026 🔥

The season continues 20th June, and the boys are ready to hit the turf for the next chapter of the campaign.

The second half of the draw is here — so lock in the dates, get down to the games, and keep bringing the energy.

A huge congratulations to all our SUHC players who represented their regions at the Open Field State Championships over the June long weekend! 🏑

It was fantastic to see so many of our players competing across both the Women’s and Men’s divisions, with some great results across the board.

Special congratulations to Reon Labana and SEHA Div 2 on taking out 1st place, and to Em Srdic, Lil Turner and SEHA Div 2 on finishing as runners up!

Coming to Sydney for Semester 2? Sydney Uni Hockey Club would love to welcome you.

Whether you’ve played hockey for years, haven’t picked up a stick in a while, or are keen to try something new, SUHC is a great way to meet people, stay active and get involved in uni life.💙💛

Semester 2 starts in early August, but if you’re arriving before then, come and join us early. It’s the perfect way to make the most of your time in Sydney.

All levels are welcome, with both social and competitive opportunities available.

Hoodies, Long Sleeves, Polos, Training Tees, Training Singlets and Yellow Away Socks are now available for purchase. Preordered GK smocks have also arrived and are ready for collection.

Items can be purchased at the Sports Centre reception on Mondays and Wednesdays, or during Women’s training on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Congratulations to our Sydney University Hockey Club players who represented their associations at this weekend’s U18 Field State Championships! 💙💛

This marks our biggest U18 representation in a very long time — an incredible achievement for our club and a reflection of the talent coming through our emerging talent squads (ETS).

Ciara Jarvis, Audrey Paige, Emilie Srdic and Tara Williams represented SEHA U18 D1, finishing as runners up 🌟🌟

Well done also to Cody Finlayson (SEHA U18), Nic Staples (Syd South U18), Kai Schindler (SEHA U18), Darius Pratt (MSW U18), Leo Diaz (NSB U18), Rhea Labana, JJ Pittello and Ana-Catalina Middleton Rico (NWSHA U18G), Harvey Taylor, Amos Mashiah, Kobi D**e and Aaron Krohn (NWSHA U18B).

MASTERS STATE CHAMPS RECAP 🏑

A huge weekend in Newcastle for the Men’s Masters Field State Championships, with SUHC proudly represented across the Over 34s, 49s and 64s divisions.

🥉Jack Lander represented North West Sydney in the 34s Division 1 competition, finishing with a fantastic 3rd place result.

🥈Sean Ferris competed in the 49s Division 1 side, going down in a thrilling grand final 5–4.

👏🏼Phillip Price, Bruce McKay and Michael Irby also represented North West Sydney in the 64s Division 1 competition. Crichton Smith represented Bathurst and Paul Topfer represented Newcastle in the 64s Division 1.

Congratulations to all of our players on a brilliant weekend of hockey and for representing SUHC. 💛💙

Sydney Uni was well represented at the Schools CHS Boys Hockey Championships in Parkes last week 🏑🔥

• Kobi represented South Coast, playing in the grand final and bringing home the win 1-0 🤩
• Darius represented Sydney South West

• Jack & Nic represented Sydney East

A huge congratulations to Ana-Catalina and Rhea on representing Sydney North at the NSWCHSSA Girls Hockey Championships in Albury this week 👏

An extra special shoutout to Ana-Catalina, who was awarded Best Player for the Sydney North Team and earned selection in the NSWCHS Open Team 🌟

We’re incredibly proud of both players and can’t wait to see what’s next!
