CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025/26
THE WOMEN”S PAIRS FINAL 2026
The final of the Women’s Pairs took place on Sunday 22nd March in warm sunny conditions.
Cheryl Hudson had teamed up with Wilma Hill (Marlyn Williams was unfortunately still not well enough to
tackle playing 18 ends but was there as a supporter for Cheryl and Wilma) to play against Inez McCabe and Alice Aumann.
The players are to be congratulated on playing an entertaining game with some excellent shots bowled.
At the end it was Inez and Alice who became are 2026 Women’s Mixed Pairs Champions. Congratulations.

Congratulations to our bowls CPCC 2 team on their triumph today, (Tuesday) in winning the Div5 Section 5 final against Heathmont. Well done to all players who played in the team this season finishing on top of the ladder and by winning today showed your ability to pull together as a team over a drawn out finals series.

Today we played a Div 3 Sectional Semi- final against Kingsbury at Heathmont. Nail biting up to the last end on the last rink to finish. However, we went down by 2 shots. Congratulations to all our Tuesday Side 1 bowlers who gave their all this season to achieve such good results. Great bowling this past week to make it to the Sectional Semi-Final. Well done Kingsbury, good luck in the Div 3 Sectional Grand Final. 👏👏👏

Division 3 Divisional Quarter Final (Tuesday 10 March)

The first team on a Tuesday, after winning the grand final of their section, played in the Division 3 quarter finals of the Divisional Round which is made up of the winning teams from each of the 8 sections in Division 3. They played at Boronia Bowls Club against Mulgrave Country Club, who won their Section 8 final. The grass surface was excellent, it was a beautiful day for bowls and the matches were played in the spirit that all bowls matches should be played. The three Chirnside rinks put up a strong performance with lots of great bowling and great shots being played on all three rinks. In the end, Chirnside had a fantastic win and we did not need to play the last end as we could not be beaten, even if Mulgrave got 8 shots for the last end.

We now advance to the semifinal match against Kingsbury, which will be played this Thursday (12 March), at a venue to be determined. Good luck to all of the bowlers playing this Thursday.

Division 5 Section 5 Semi Final (Tuesday 10 March)

Congratulations to our Division 5 Section 5 team for their stirring win against Healesville Bowling Club and thus making it into the final of their section. The match will be played next Tuesday (17 March) at Heathmont Bowling club, against Heathmont. Just getting to the final ensures that they will be promoted to Division 4, which is a great result. We know that they will do us proud and we are all cheering them on to win one more match. Best of luck in the final.

Another flag. Congratulations to our Midweek Pennant team on winning the Club’s second flag for the week. The CPCC team 1 playing in Division 3 Section 6 won a close fought match against Lilydale on Thursday. Congratulations to all the bowlers who bowled in this team throughout the season.
Our Midweek Team 2 are still in the hunt for a flag in Division 5 Section 5. Their next match is on Tuesday 10th (a Preliminary Final) against Healesville at home. Good luck to all bowlers and please come along and cheer them on to a win.

Congratulations to our Saturday Pennant CPCC 1 team on wining the Division 4 Section 6 Grand Final against Lilydale. We never gave up and overcame the opposition in the later ends. Off to Doncaster tomorrow to contest the Division 4 Section Finals .

Congratulations to the division 4 Saturday team.
After a tough loss at home on Saturday the bounce back win on Sunday was hard fought.
Good luck next Saturday at Lilydale

Our Pennant sides have completed the 2025/26 season and we congratulate those sides who have made it to the finals.
Team 1 in Saturday Pennant finished on top of their section and will play in the Semi-Final on Saturday 21st Feb at home against Lilydale.
Team 2 had a win in the last game but narrowly missed slipping into 4th place and finals.
Team 3, combined with players from Eastwood, had a tough season often struggling to fill the team every week Players are congratulated on their efforts to give their best every week.
Both Teams 1 & 2 in Tuesday Pennant finished on top in their Section and will be hosting the Semi- Finals at home on Tuesday 24th Feb. Team 1 will be playing Monbulk and Team 2 Heathmont.
Come along and support our players , as they endeavour to win and advance to the Final.

At our Pennant End of Season Break-up last Saturday we acknowledged some outstanding efforts of our bowlers. In particular the scoring of that elusive ‘8’.
On Tuesday 13th January CPCC Team 2 players scored an ‘8’ and congratulations go to Neil Y, Dianne, Wilma and Peter R. On the 19th and 21st ends they came close again scoring ‘7’s’.
On Saturday 7th February CPCC Team 2 players scored an ‘8’ with congratulations going to Neil Y, Ken, Cheryl and Peter R.
Well done Neil and Peter, two in one season!
