Why this one is special to me.
The story behind the naming.
FOREVER MARIA.
When we bought the Russian Revolution x Better Reflection filly home to Hannover Lodge from the Magic Millions sales, they gave her the stable name Maria.
It was simple , it suited - and none of us knew yet how much that name would come to mean.
On the 14th July . I lost my mother Maria.
Not long after that it came time for the ownership group to settle for a race-name.
Twenty-One names went into contention - one of the owners put forward “FOREVER MARIA” .. (in honour of my mum) … and the group voted for it.
The filly had already carried an echo of mums name from the day she arrived at the property.
To watch the group land on FOREVER MARIA out of all the options in front of them, turning a stable name into something permanent - a filly who will carry my mothers name onto the track, every start , for as long as she races is special.
That’s why FOREVER MARIA is more than a name to me..
