As you may know, there had been some discussions around possible change to the season draw due to the price of fuel at the moment.

At the Western Downs meeting on Tuesday evening the matter was discussed at some length.

It was decided that the season draw remain as per the original draw as attached. It wasn't taken lightly, but given fuel prices have calmed down a bit and for the development of players, the Committee decided to stay with the previously adopted schedule.

Thanks Chinchilla Junior Bulldogs for hosting the second carnival of the season yesterday.

The weather was kind and the footy was played with tremendous spirit.

A bit of a break now in our competition over the school holidays, although, some clubs are heading to Roma for the Darren Lockyer Shield.

We’re excited to announce that applications are now open for team officials for Outback! We’re looking for passionate and committed individuals to fill the following roles across our teams:

Positions Available:
• Coach

Successful applicants must be available from Tuesday 30th through to Sunday 5th for the Development Camp and Carnival.

Due to the QRL's decision not to sanction the time honoured Zone 5 and Zone 4 carnivals, and therefore negating the requirement for invitational Wild Dog teams to be announced, a decision has been made to alter the Western Downs draw.

The main difference is that the Miles Carnival that was to be held Saturday 18 April (on the school holidays) will now be held Saturday 9 May. The fixture games planned for Saturday 9 May have now been moved to Saturday 30 May.

Thanks for you patience and flexibility. It is really disappointing that these carnivals are not going ahead.

Footy heads to Chinchilla Junior Bulldogs this Saturday for the second carnival of the year. A big day planned with sessions 3 & 4 of the Under 8 Tackle Ready program, coaching workshops, sports trainer course and heaps of footy throughout the morning with Under 6's, 8's, 10's and 12's all doing battle. The day will finish off with the local club hosting Dalby in Under 13, 15 & 17 girls games.

Thanks Wandoan Junior Rugby League Football Club for histing a great day up at Taroom yesterday.

After such a hectic pre-season, it was refreshing to actually just play some footy.

We look forward to seeing you all next Saturday when the Chinchilla Junior Bulldogs host their carnival.
