A wonderful initiative today at Miles with the second phase of the Western Downs development day.

It was a high quality hit out with some great coaches that resulted in a couple of terrific games of footy where the improvement in players was very evident.

Thanks to everyone that made it happen, especially the mentors and club coaches that sacrificed their day off to be there for the players from the clubs that turned up.

A special mention to the generosity of the sponsors who made the season of a lot of little footballers when they received their very own Wild Dogs jersey.

Next weekend is the closing carnival of what has been a wonderful season. See you in Jandowae.

As you may know, there had been some discussions around possible change to the season draw due to the price of fuel at the moment.

At the Western Downs meeting on Tuesday evening the matter was discussed at some length.

It was decided that the season draw remain as per the original draw as attached. It wasn't taken lightly, but given fuel prices have calmed down a bit and for the development of players, the Committee decided to stay with the previously adopted schedule.

Thanks Chinchilla Junior Bulldogs for hosting the second carnival of the season yesterday.

The weather was kind and the footy was played with tremendous spirit.

A bit of a break now in our competition over the school holidays, although, some clubs are heading to Roma for the Darren Lockyer Shield.

• Coach

Successful applicants must be available from Tuesday 30th through to Sunday 5th for the Development Camp and Carnival.
