⭐ MEET THE COACH — PHIL GYEMORE

This one needs very little introduction.

Phil Gyemore is one of the most experienced coaches and players in Australian touch football.

Phil’s international career dates back to the 2002 Trans-Tasman Test Series.

Since then, he has represented Australia across five World Cups and eight Trans-Tasman Test Series, as both a player and coach.

He has accumulated 47 World Cup caps and 31 Test caps.

Phil has also coached at the highest level, including the Australian Men’s Open Emus, and was part of Australia’s successful 2024 Touch World Cup campaign.

His coaching experience also extends through the Queensland pathway, Cowboys programs and junior representative teams.

But what makes Phil particularly valuable at a clinic like this is his ability to take elite-level concepts and turn them into practical drills that young players can understand and use.

That’s exactly what the Junior Clinic is about.

⭐ MEET THE COACH — LACHLAN PIERCE

Now this is a touch football résumé! 🔥

Lachlan Pierce has been one of Queensland’s outstanding touch footballers for many years.

Lachlan has represented Queensland and Australia, played in the NRL Touch Premiership with the North Queensland Cowboys, and has been a standout at National Touch League level.

He was a member of the 2015 Indigenous Touch Football All Stars, where he scored the winning touchdown and was awarded the inaugural Shane Frederiksen Medal as the best male player on the field.

He has also represented Australia in the Men’s Open and was selected for the 2016 Australian Trans-Tasman team.

And if you’re looking for someone with attacking ability, Lachlan’s footwork has long been one of his biggest weapons — TFA themselves highlighted his ability to beat defenders with his footwork.

This is a player who has experienced the game at the very highest level.

The kids are going to love learning from Lachlan.

⭐ MEET THE COACH — TROY MORGAN OAM ⭐

We’re incredibly proud to have Troy Morgan OAM joining us again for this year’s Junior Development Clinic.

Troy has been involved in touch football since 1980 — almost 50 years dedicated to the game he loves.

During an extraordinary career, Troy has represented Queensland and Australia, playing at seven Touch World Cups and accumulating more than 50 international Emus caps. 🇦🇺

He has also coached at the highest levels of the game, including the National Touch League Men’s Open, while working across junior, senior and elite programs.

Troy was the Australian flag bearer at the 2024 Touch World Cup and was awarded the Ron Hanson Medal, an honour recognising the leadership, values and contribution of Australian Touch Football flag bearers. (Touch Football Australia⁠)

And in January 2026, Troy received one of the highest recognitions possible for his contribution to our sport — the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to Touch Football. 🏅🇦🇺 (Governor-General of Australia⁠)

The OAM recognises much more than what Troy has achieved on the field. It recognises the countless hours spent coaching, mentoring, leading, developing players and strengthening the touch football community.

For our young players, having the opportunity to learn from someone with Troy’s experience is something pretty special.

Nearly 50 years in the game. Queensland representative. Australian Emu. World Cup flag bearer. OAM recipient.

And now, helping the next generation.

⭐ MEET THE COACH — BRENDAN TAYLOR

We’re extremely lucky to have Brendan Taylor joining us for this year’s Junior Development Clinic.

Brendan has been involved in touch football across the South West Queensland region for many years, both as a player and coach.

He has represented the South West Queensland Swans at Men’s Open level, including National Touch League campaigns, and has continued to give back to the game through coaching and player development.

Today Brendan is a Queensland Touch Football Game Development Officer for South West Queensland, working across the region to grow the game and develop the next generation of players and coaches.

For the kids coming through the Chinchilla program, having someone with Brendan’s experience working with them is a fantastic opportunity.

From playing at the highest level to helping develop the next generation — that’s what country touch is all about. 💙

ATTENTION Everyone!!!!

This weekend is fast approaching and for those that don’t know it is the biggest Touch Event of the year,

And this year is our MOST PARTICIPATED Year yet!
With 154 kids registered for the Junior Clinic
&
40 teams total for our Fast 4s Competition!

INSANE, I Know!! 😮‍💨😮‍💨

So just some general info coming into this weekend…
BATTLE OF THE WEST will commence Friday Morning and run throughout the day,
JUNIOR CLINIC starts from 4:00pm Friday (arrive from 3.30) afternoon.
And our Annual FAST 4s first game kicks off Saturday morning from a 7:45am teams briefing and a 8:15am first game.

PLEASE NOTE: Any fast 4s teams that are short players please don’t be hesitant to contact us, there are many spares who are keen to have a run if any teams go short, let us know 💪💪
