The A’s pennant team had the Grand Final at Kooyonga yesterday versus West Lakes. Unfortunately, the team lost 4-3, with the match coming down to the last hole. The players fought gallantly all day in tough conditions, but it was just not meant to be. It was a great atmosphere nonetheless, with plenty of support — thank you.

We would like to thank all those involved across all pennant divisions — not just today, but throughout the year. It was a great effort to get 2 teams into finals in men’s and juniors including a grand final. Some good signs for 2027.

On Monday, the 27th, at The Grange GC, Blackwood GC displayed impressive skills in the Grand Final against Thaxted Park GC. Following a remarkable season, Thaxted Park proved to be the stronger team on the day, securing the flag.
We would like to thank our team, who showed unwavering determination, impressive teamwork, and a sense of fun throughout the season.
Congratulations to the players 👏👏👏.
Our team for the season and the finals consisted of Vicky Nimmo, Kim Hurem, Jan Samm, Natalie Horan, Cheryl Bauer, Allyson Carpenter, Di Lorimer, Di Psaila, Carolyn Bradbrook (Manager), and Jill Walter (Manager).

On Monday, the 27th, at Aston Hill GC, Blackwood GC delivered an exceptional performance in the Grand Final against Westward Ho, culminating an outstanding season for both teams. Westward Ho
secured the win with a strong game.
A huge thank you to our team, who demonstrated remarkable unity and teamwork to reach the finals.
Congratulations to the players, and thanks to the caddies, and Marg, our manager, on a season to be proud of.

Three days on, we’re still reflecting on a special moment at Blackwood this past ANZAC Day. 🌺

At 11:00am, play paused across the course as members, guests and staff stood in silence to honour those who have served. From the Clubhouse balcony, Archie Howison – son of member Bill Howison – delivered a moving rendition of The Last Post, followed by a minute’s silence and the Rouse.

It was a powerful sight, with players across the course stopping in place, and many afternoon groups arriving early to gather on the balcony and lawn to be part of the commemoration. The respect shown right across the Club was something to be proud of.

A sincere thank you to Archie for making the trip to perform, and to all who took the time to pause and reflect.

Men’s and Juniors Pennant Update:

A-grade are through to the Grand Final next Sunday at Kooyonga after a tough win versus Willunga at home. It was tight, but the lads got the job done and it was a great team effort. Blackwood finished top of the table and remain undefeated. One more win will see the club back in Simpson Cup after a hiatus! Thank you to those involved today at the club for ensuring it went smoothly and was a successful day.

Junior Div 3s played the hosts at Flagstaff Hill today. A very gallant effort from the team, but unfortunately it was a narrow loss, going down 3-2. Some very close matches, with a few going up the 18th. A great season nonetheless and a very bright future for the club with some great junior talent across all teams.
Thank you to Jenni and Stuart, the players and those involved for a great season in Div 3.

Sharp cup unfortunately went down to Royal Adelaide today at Grange.
A tough season, but plenty of positives to come out of it. Better luck next year and thank you to everyone involved. Some great talent coming through the ranks for years to come!

The Men’s A2 final will be held at Kooyonga on Sunday, 3rd May from 10:15am. We would love your support.

Hickory's semi-final match against North Adelaide took place on Monday at The Vines GC, culminating in a resounding 5-0 win. Although the score suggests a one-sided contest, the competition was actually fierce, with three matches going to the 17th & 18th holes.The team's outstanding performance has secured their place in the Grand Final.
