B2 were sent into bat by Normanhurst-Warrawee at their match at Normanhurst Park. J Slip led the batting effort with 23 runs, while T Lillis and J Fleming helped the team reach a total of 103. With a small total to defend, P Dekhane started his season with a magnificent 7/21 with S Singh claiming the remaining three wickets through a great display of bowling and fielding, sealing BCCβs win.
C2 won the toss and elected to bat in their match against Hornsby at Cheltenham Oval. Opener S Reid turned back the clock with a smashing 31 runs before President M Patil and J Medaglia built BCCβs total of 144 runs. M Niccol then led the bowling effort with 2/25, with M Rasotra and M Patil also contributing with wickets, handing BCC a victory.
C3 batted first after winning the toss in their game against Kenthurst at Annangrove Park. After some smaller scores from both of their captains, it was T Bryant and D Herngren who steadied the ship with a 207 run partnership. T Bryant was excellent with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 101, while D Herngren was forced to settle with a much less impressive 92 run total. The Wombats finished their innings with a total of 310 runs, thanks to a late effort from M Parker who scored 20*. The Wombats then sailed to a 210 run victory with M Lynch, M Parker and F McCraken leading a bowling attack.
C4 lost the toss and were sent into bat by Sydney Lions in their match at Glenhaven Reserve. A 66 run partnership from openers P Hunter and P Mirajkar saw the side post a total of 138 runs. Sydney Lions were on the ropes early in their innings thanks to a wicket from P Issa with the second ball of the innings. M Gunasekara claimed a handy 2/12 before the game was called due to impossibly dark light. After a tense few minutes of calculations worthy of a Nobel Prize, BCC were the declared winners.
D1 won the toss and elected to bat in their match against Thornleigh at George Christie Playing Field. Young opener R Taylor led the way with the bat, top scoring with 47 runs while S Singh (43 runs) and Q House (27 runs) helped BCC to a total of 180. Unfortunately, this wasnβt enough to defend despite fantastic bowling from K Gage, S Singh and E House.
