Charters Towers Darts Association Make your competitive juices overcome your excuses. Why not come down to the Freemason Lodge in Ryan Street, Charters Towers on Friday evenings from 7.30 pm.

The atmosphere you will intercept is great and a friendly smile won't go astray. The Charters Towers club, in particular consists of seniors and juniors from the age of 10 onwards. The Charters Towers Darts Association is affiliated with Zone 6. The Zone consists of Cairns, Townsville , Thuringowa and Charters Towers. The Zone games include Adam and Eve, NQ6's, Claytons, Pat Mckenzie Cup, Preside

nt's Cup, Presentation Trebles, Averages,Vets and Juniors. These games are played throughout North Queensland. Intercity Matches between Charters Towers and Townsville include Olivia Risdale, President's Shield, and Gully Butler. These tournaments are held in either Charters Towers or Townsville. The Association also holds tournaments within the club that include," The Spud Murphy Trophy", "Neville Polkinghorne Perpetual Trophy", The Charters Towers Closed and the Wayne Howearth Junior Trophy. The John and Fran McKee was attended by a small crowd of dedicated players who enjoyed their Pot Luck. Thank you all for keeping the spirit of past players memories alive.

Winners for today were Russell Homer and Wakita Young.
All players played well and the finals were nail biting with Russell winning 5 games to Ken Kennedy 4 games.
Wakita defeating Tasha King 3 games to 2

The Brian and Rance Nibbs and Cyril King perpetual shield was played for today at the Freemason Lodge Hall. Sandy and Danny Nibbs and Roe Hero supplied the trophies and money for the winners and runners up of both men and ladies.

Men’s winner was Kelvyn Doolan and Runner up was Roe Hero.

Ladies winner was Wakita Young and Runner up Eva Masso.

The Dave Fischer comp was won by the Salmon team. Ken Kennedy, Graham Roberts, Tash King and Greg Payne.

Kelvyn Doolan hit the big 180 and Tash King a high peg of 136.

Only a small group competed this year but I think they all enjoyed their day.
